This all happened and the last remaining living hostage was released this weekend under Trump's watch. Plus if Zelensky will come to the table (Doubtful) then it appears Putin is willing to do a deal to end that war that Biden let get started.

I dont care who gets credit for what, but obviously the tariffs are working since countries are willing to cut new trade deals. Wars are ending and hostages are being brought home. Plus prices at the grocery store/ pump are down. Good times are indeed back. BTW, Trump would be a fool not to accept a 400 million dollar plane gift from Qatar. If he didn't accept this gift you would be criticizing him.

It is like you and I live in parallel universes.

Ukraine: Putin started the war in 2014 and restarted the war in 2022. If Biden let Putin restart the war, Trump is letting Putin continue it. BTW, both suppositions are wrong. Putin has a long term goal of reclaiming 100% of Ukraine. Putin has yet to make a good faith proposal to start negotiations to end the war. Putin is just stringing everyone along. I could be wrong but it would not surprise me if Putin fears for his life if Russia does not win the Ukraine war. A negotiate peace settlement would be the same as a death sentence to Putin.

Tariffs: The US had a negative GDP in 2025 Q1, thanks to tariffs. The effects of tariffs will be felt soon (4 to 6 weeks for the big box stores). There will be a supply shock. Shelves will be half empty. Goods will be more expensive, since fewer goods will mean higher prices. I am guessing that there will be a 4 week lag between yesterday's announcement and the supply chain being re-established. There will also be a swift kick in the nuts, when the higher prices don't come down immediately. Same thing happen during the covid supply shock.

Grocery prices: Prices have not come down to pre-covid levels, like Trump promised. Trump has done absolutely nothing to bring down grocery prices, so no surprise there. Egg prices are also higher now than when Trump got sworn in.

400 million dollar plane gift from Qatar: The Constitution "prevents" Trump from accepting this gift. Trump can either violate the Constitution or take the money and run.

hostages are being brought home: I will give Trump credit for this.

We've still yet to get a trade deal, and we didn't gain anything.

Getting back a hostage was a problem he caused?

Saving approximately 16 billion in newly negotiated trade deals is a problem he caused.

Lower inflation is a problem he caused?

Helping end 3 different wars is a problem he caused?

Let these problems keep on coming. Because he seems to be solving these problems. It's like you're rooting for Trump to fail, is this true?

True, we do live in alternative universes.

All I know is there were no new wars under the Trump POTUS and the current wars will be ending soon.

Tariffs, I doubt this will be happening. But if it does this is just the medicine as a country that we'll have to take because of 55 years of bad trade policy. We will be better off in the long run taking our medicine. Bottom line is we're going to be better off as a country if we start manufacturing things here even if things cost a little more, because jobs will be created. Do you think we dont need to bring manufacturing home?

I dont know where you shop, but at HEB eggs and other foods are cheaper.

He needs to accept the gift and sell it off then put the money down on the debt.

Finally there's something you're giving Trump credit for, I didn't ever think I would see this day.

Trump could come over, plow your wife, slap your kids, and you'd explain to us how it was such a great honor for him to bless your household with his presence.

LOL, there is Trump's version and reality, and MAGA folks live Trump's version of truth most of the time, even if it is such BS that a child could fact check the lies.

Starting Q1 2025 (and going back many quarters), the US is at almost full employment.

If we add high paying manufacturing jobs, who is going to fill them? Or better said who is going to fill the lower paying jobs that get left?

Due to the full employment, there are actually labor shortages in certain industries. Right now, the US does not have enough workers to build US Navy submarines. These are high paying jobs.

What covid showed us is that we need to onshore some manufacturing jobs, for the sake of our supply chains. These are the jobs that the US should strategically target.

There are low paying manufacturing jobs that. we do not want to onshore. Trump's tariff "policy" was indiscriminate versus strategic.

So the media was lying when they said a trade deal with the UK got done? I read somewhere that one of the UK leaders didn't like the deal.

Trump and Bessent said they had a trade deal in place with China and that both sides agreed to cut tariffs down to 20%. They're lying too?

I will not converse with someone that lives in La La Land that refuses to debate in good faith and I stand by my above statement. Seek help…

UK is a framework for a deal. A pretty meaningless deal, aside from corn farmers, if the deal even gets completed.

China and US agreed to 90 day pause and nothing was actually accomplished. Keep in mind Trump had a deal with China in his first term, that never really came to fruition.

Trump became desperate for "good news" and does basically nothing, but it's gets the base thinking he's accomplishing something.

In the deal China agreed to open up markets to the USA.

This is a losing discussion. I guess I'm supposed to ignore what's reported on TV or what I read and just believe you?

I can't imagine the Chinese are going to be buying more US made goods than from before the trump tariffs were announced.
