Live look in at SamFisher's economic doom and gloom prediction.... OOPS -- Sam is hilariously wrong yet again! (also, the stock market continues to soar). Here is to those patriots among us rooting for a strong economy to lift all boats! Not the naysayers wishing for an economic collapse because their candidate lost in November...

CEO confidence hits 3-year high amid optimism on labor market, economy

Chief executives haven't been this confident in their business outlook in three years.

Data released Thursday showed the Conference Board's measure of CEO confidence increased by nine points in the first quarter of 2025 to a reading of 60, its highest level in three years. The Conference Board added that the move above 50 indicates a shift from "cautious optimism" to "confident optimism" among business leaders.

The survey included responses from 134 US CEOs and was conducted between Jan. 27 and Feb. 10.

“The improvement in CEO Confidence in the first quarter of 2025 was significant and broad-based,” Stephanie Guichard, senior economist of global indicators at the Conference Board said in the release. “All components of the Measure improved, as CEOs were substantially more optimistic about current economic conditions as well as about future economic conditions — both overall and in their own industries."

latest eg of Trader George's intellectuual dishonesty

as per the link provide by Traitor George, Data released Thursday, the highest confidence level was 3 years ago at above 80%,
    when Biden was president,
right after he had signed into law
    • the CHIP act and
    • the Infrstructure act

after 3 weeks of Trump 2,0, the CEOs' confidence level is at ~ 60%

Crackhead Larry Kudlow is about as reliable a MAGA economic cheerleader as you'll find:

KUDLOW: "There could be some short term, one-off price hikes. But at least for now, the economic signals are flashing slower growth and higher inflation. Not good."

LOL, we are 2% off all time highs for the stock market and SamFisher thinks the economy is going belly up. Let me give everyone here a valuable tip: Never invest in the market when you are emotional. Bonus tip: Never invest in the market because you hope it goes down in order to score political points. Both are very bad reasons to make investments or predictions.

Liberals are still trying to cope with their devastating loss and policy rejection from November's elections. Hoping for a stock market decline or a recession are things that soothe them... which is a shame, because it will reduce quality of life for millions of Americans. Unfortunately for the selfish hyper-partisans, that is of no interest.

Trump's policies of abundant energy production, lower taxes, deregulation, and cutting of waste/fraud/abuse will lead to significant economic and financial gains. Invest accordingly.

    GOOD DAY

    Right.

Very highly trained ones at that.

The people who work for the government don't make good money. Adequate for this area, but not good compared to their private counterparts.

The idea that everybody here is living high on the hog doing nothing is very, very wrong. Especially when it comes to civil servants.

You can make good money working with the government, contracts and such, but it's not a given (highly dependent on what you're doing and who you're doing it for, ex. my friend who worked with USAID made beans compared to my friends involved with the DOD, DOJ, SEC, FBI, etc.) and quite honestly the government is the biggest PITA customer you can imagine.

Exactly, I know a dude who was one of the first IT guys at DHS - he made like 100k, then he quit & founded an IT consulting/contracting place that works with DHS - clears 7 figures easily.

And that doesn't even begin to talk about the 80% of non-DC based workers, park rangers, SSA office workers, etc - it is just regular people doing regular jobs for below market wages in many cases.

Destroying state capacity with literally nothing to replace it (AI!) is a tragedy and a huge mistake, and we will all be worse off for it.

The vilifying of the federal worker is so unnecessary and such an outright evil thing to do.

Say what you want about whether or not the federal government should be doing X or Y, but the people who are doing the work are just like everybody else and do not deserve such scorn and mistreatment.

If your entire argument revolves around the welfare queen ethos instead of putting forward a vision for how government ought to function, you've lost the plot.

A weird thing here - not that these gangsters & neo Nazi drug addicts are acting in good faith to stop waste fraud & abuse is that - we already have an agency that does this ? The GAO, the inspector generals etc.

The reason why we have a federal bureaucracy is because politicians want to prevent waste, fraud & abuse

The NSF for example has a lot of administrators because they review grants exhaustively and supervise them very closely

So you either have lots of fraud & no administrators, or lots of administrators or less fraud.

Of course, the patently illegal method chosen by Musk is something different.- basically abolish all scientific & medical research in the country by not doing anymore NSF & NIH & other funds.

I still can't get over how dumb & self destructive this is in general and in particular for self described tech people. It's just insane.

Great news, we have set the new record for turning economic growth & full employment to recession and mass suffering.

Well, if Bumblin Joe Biden delivered 25% on the SP500, Donald will be an utter failure if we don’t see at least 35% this year, right?
