I'm not really a fan either but if later in the off-season we still need depth it isn't a horrible target for our "tpe" I can't really recall ATM since I just woke up, but I think it had to do with players opting out and some other minor stuff. Nothing huge or ground breaking. He is also very knowledgeable about nuances of the cba that typical fans don't know that seems more in the level of bimathug For instance:
Right now Detroit has to make a salary dumbing move pronto. Is Marcus Morris, Harris some scrub? They need to get rid of at least 2 million.
they signed Galloway in a good contract but now they can't match the max of KCP. KCP's agent is Rich Paul and he also has many other suitors. Doubtful he will take a big discount. So they have to move salary.
I believe this is what Codman stated when mentioning talks were going very well with 4-5 teams (one of them being DET). That TPE (11 million) could net us that wing to back-up Ariza or Anderson. Wouldn't mind a Harris or Morris at all. We just need guys who buy into the system MDA has so we can maximize their abilities. We need those guys who gel well in the locker room too. I have faith Morey will round out the roster very well. Especially with teams like the Wolves and Thunder making moves.
Would love this move, except why would Detroit (SVG) do this? also Trade checking through Realgm says: Congratulations on a successful trade Due to Houston being over the cap and having a post-trade Team Salary under the Tax Threshold and trading out less than $19.6M in salaries, the 50% trade rule is invoked. Houston could not receive more than 150% plus $100,000 or no more than $5,000,000 in additional salaries (whichever is lesser) of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. Due to Detroit being over the cap and having a post-trade Team Salary over the Tax Threshold, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Detroit could not receive more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Houston Rockets Trade breakdown Incoming players: Tobias Harris & Marcus Morris Outgoing players: Ryan Anderson
Harden is apparently still close to Morris. One of the Morris twins is in an ad for the Harden LS (available everywhere July 1st. Brought to you by Adidas®). Haha
