He's brought the sport back to life.. and then kind of brought it back to it's boringness by refusing that blood sample drug test

Not a big follower of boxing but i'm suprised Mayweather didn't win this.
Since supposedly he is the most current dominant boxer.

Would love to see Mayweather/Paqiuao ;)

The fight was in negotiations and when the drug test was brought up, he just bolted for another fight...

So since he did not want to take the test, in a way he refused it by doing another fight.

Gayweather was asking for too much.....if Pac agreed to it, he probably would have asked to do a different test.....penis size

Anyway you look at it, Gayweather just didn't want anything to do with Pac and chickened out by requesting also these ridiculous test to be done. No one boxing history has ever demanded this from any boxer.

It was going to be one of the biggest fights in recent boxing history...

Everything is at stake; why is Mayweather to blame for wanting a fair procedure? People in the olympics do it. Did you just forget about all the doping that happened in baseball?

As a professional athlete, you have to realize that no matter how superstitious you are, if the fight is this big in magnitude, you have to subject yourself to a few uncomfortable things... And Pacman failed to do that. He basically hid behind his "superstition".

it had nothing to do with doping. It had a lot to do with Flyod trying to get in his head. many has taken plenty of blood test before and after fights. HE EVEN TOOK ONE ON TV (HBO 24/7).

If floyd wanted him to take and MRI to check his organs for steel implants it would be fair too?

No to the MRI but how is asking for a blood test not fair?

So you are telling me that Pacman, a great of an athlete he is, cannot keep his psyche because he is afraid of getting a drop of blood drawn from his body... and this makes Mayweather's request ridiculous?

Why does anyone have to change to rules to meet Mayweather's demands? Why is he so special? Mayweather b****ed out.

What's so hard about a small blood draw? I see it differently. I like Pacman but I'm not biased to the point where I think everything is Mayweather's fault.

Well this thread is destined to become a Pacquiao-Mayweather pissing match.

Pacquiao won this because he took on all challengers, Mayweather, not so much. The BWAA recognize this which is why he won it. It has nothing to do over their failed matchup.

This is just an excuse that Gayweather jumped on, and kept on using it as his shield. Before all you haters go out and start why don't you consider the context of the fight:

*Pacquiao has always gone up against the best. Morales, Cotto etc. he never backed down against anyone, and that's the reason why he has some losses in his career. His pound-for-pound title was made by defeating strong opponents, so I guess you could say he's got nothing to lose even if he lost to Gayweather.

*Gayweather has developed a reputation for always picking out the wimpiest opponents, or former dominant dudes who are already past their prime. It wasn't always like this for him, but ever since his "perfect" record started getting some steam, he prioritized it over beating strong opponents. Unlike Pacman Gayweather has everything to lose in this fight, should he lose to Pacquiao, his perfect record will be no more and all he'll have are wins over wimps and has-beens.

The Pacman-Gayweather fight has been playing in the minds of people since Gayweather announced his unretirement, but Gayweather made sure it will be unlikely by demanding an exorbitant amount of money. However the money issue suddenly got settled, so in a panic Gayweather insisted on an olympic style drug test, something that was unheard of in the history of boxing. Nobody, not Ali, not Tyson, nobody had ever insisted or been subjected to that. Its not like you're talking about Boxing GOAT here, Pacman is one of the greats but he's not really better than Ali and co., and I doubt anyone takes Gayweather's perfect record seriously.

The most important thing though is that Pacman agreed to a test-2 weeks before the fight AND a day after the fight. That's something gayweather lovers seem to forget, why is Mayweather the only one who can decide what the conditions are? Last I checked Pacman has achieved titles in more divisions, and he's beaten the better fighters. If indeed Pacman has been juicing up, shouldn't it take more than a day for the drugs to leave his body and he'll be caught in the test after the fight? Obviously Pacman doesn't want needles bbeing injected or blood being taken out of him anytime near the fight, I think that's a perfectly reasonable request. Why will Mayweather insist on random testing prior to the fight but won't accept a test immediately after the fight? Shouldn't any cheating still be uncovered that way anyway? LOL he's scared pure and simple

For ONE fight? That is very hilarious. Maybe if he had two dominating wins but he's only fought once in the last 2 years. Anyways, Houston's own Juan Diaz and Juan Manuel Marquez won Fight of the Year for their clash back in Houston.
