Problem with Paul George is he's just a prospect. Not the Wesley Johnson type where a lot of people would be surprised if he isn't a role player at least...but the type imo that can go either way. Sort of like Jordan Hill.
Exactly, I think Hill and George are very similar. I wonder If the need for a big would make Indiana think about it. If they are committed to Granger, I can't see George ever getting much run in his rookie contract... Jordan Hill on the otherhand.
Pretty much. However, Brandon Rush is another player that Morey was reportedly high on in the '08 draft. http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1472/draft_day_trade_could_be_rush_order/ With a Budinger/Martin/Lee/Battier rotation at the 2 and 3 and the possibility of more injuries to the front line, I'd imagine Morey wouldn't trade a big for another wing unless it's a solid upgrade.
Rush and Hill probably are close enough value-wise, and Rush may be reasonably available (though my guess their preference is to trade Dunleavy). And yes Rockets were interested in Rush. But the thing is I am not sure there is a point in trading for him right now, with the expecting wing rotation already full with Battier, Martin, Budinger and Lee, and with J. Taylor in reserve. Is Rush really better than Battier, Martin, Budinger and Lee? Does Rush really face that much less rotation congestion in Houston than Jordan Hill at this point? Seems like a trade that won't make much of a difference either way. Besides, if HOU and IND have another roster balancing deal in mind, why wouldn't they just include it as a part of the 4-team deal they just did? Jordan Hill for a future pick or something might make sense.
We don't have any worth While Bigs except Yao Ming. Hill- too raw, needs to bulk up Pat pat- not tall enough.
Who was higher on the Rockets' draft board -- 2Pat or Paul George? Everybody is in a rush to part with Hill, but IMO he is the better prospect to keep. 2Pat will be a solid player but with limited upside. IMO Hill is the more logical keeper because he has equal, if not greater, skills and much greater upside. However, I would be comfortable with whatever decision Adelman makes if a trade were in the works; Morey, not so much, because he will go with salary and a safe bet over height, athleticism and potential. That's why we tend to wind up with mediocre to good players like Hayes, Battier, Ariza, Andersen etc. but very few star players (Yao was pre-Morey). Occasional Morey gets lucky with a Scola, Martin, Hill and Budinger who are solid to great but not superstars (....or, at least not yet in the cases of Budinger, Hill and Brooks).
Did i miss something in that link? where does it say anything about unloading a wing? That's mostly speculation. If there's any truth to it's not Granger or George they'll give up, it's Dunleavy. Jones is probably avilable too, but he's not someone that earns enough or has enough value to bring in the type of big they'll probably want. They're very big on George and i really doubt they'll trade him before the season... This means nothing for houston.
Dunleavy and Jones will bring back nothing in the form of a decent big man that they have promised Granger. Hell, The Pistons can't get a decent big for Rip or Tayshaun...
Though I like Hill, you could trade Hill for their TE and a #1 pick. I think this would put us under the LT.
you know they have worry about this kid http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi...ith_pushing_girlfriend_down_flight_of_stairs/ some sad ****
that's what i said .... Dunleavy however is a 10 mill expiring deal and they also mentioned other expiring deals, which is why i didnt understand where "wing" came from. they dont talk about giving up wings, but the article implies they'll use expirings, which arent all wings. We all know big expiring deals can bring in talent, we should know that as rockets' fans.
Didn't know Dahntay Jones played any defense. I sure as hell couldn't tell with him playing on the pacers. Looked like that guy didn't try at all.
