Wow, the sensitivity on display here is incredible! Since you contributed nothing new, I'm going to direct you to my previous response, copied and pasted for your viewing pleasure.

No, it just makes you look ignorant if you just see a person with brownish skin and assume they are of Mexican descent. Did you even bother reading the post?

It's a big world out there, son, and if you go around walking up to every asian dude you see and calling them Japanese, you're going to a. look like an idiot, and b. piss them off.

But go ahead and keep doing it if it makes you happy.

Statement from NBA Commissioner David Stern Concerning the Altercation During the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers Game Last Night at The Palace of Auburn Hills

NEW YORK, Nov. 20 -- NBA Commissioner David Stern issued the following statement today:

“The events at last night’s game were shocking, repulsive and inexcusable -- a humiliation for everyone associated with the NBA. This demonstrates why our players must not enter the stands whatever the provocation or poisonous behavior of people attending the games. Our investigation is ongoing and I expect it to be completed by tomorrow evening.

The NBA has taken the following actions, effective immediately:

    1. Indiana players Ron Artest, Stephen Jackson and Jermaine O’Neal are suspended indefinitely, the length to be determined upon completion of the investigation.

    2. Detroit player Ben Wallace is suspended indefinitely, the length to be determined upon completion of the investigation.

    3. Review of rules and procedures relating to altercations and security have been undertaken so that fans can continue to attend our games unthreatened by events such as the ones that occurred last night.”

Try Hispanic, Latino, or just plain "MAN" woulda done.

I'm Vietnamese, and I hate being called that "Chinese kid" or "that one Japanese dude". Nothing wrong with the Chinese or Japanese, mind you. It's just that I ain't.

Someone help me out is this a six, seven, or eight figure punch that JO puts on this man?

All I can say is that punch was very cowardly. I see that most of this night's unfolding is in the heat of the moment, but when is it right to hit a guy that is being picked up off the ground? Especially if that guy did not assault anyone. True, he did not belong on the floor, but IMO he did not deserve the prior punch from Artest or the following punch by JO.

Make some friends with minorities and maybe you will.

I will not continue this petty argument.

Whats really amazing about this whole scenario is that RASHEED Wallace totally kept his cool in this situation, in fact he was trying to break up fights. I know its sorta weak for giving someone kudos for not being a hothead, but he's always been a scrapper.

LOL, you've posted like four times now on this and you don't even know what the hell is going on. I don't think I need to add anything.

No, the sensitivity brigade is on full alert, anybody who questions anything is automatically accusing them of being a pointy hood wearing racist. Thanks for contributing though mo, that was a valuable comment.

I don't know how relavant this is to this situation.

I am pretty sure beer throwing is considered assault, and you have the right to defend youself when assaulted. If you take your self denfese a little too far, that is a different story. But if you body slam the person to prevent further assualt, that is self defense.

    Isn't a slap also a misdemeanor assaullt?

Anyone with better knowledge of the law know anything about this?

his friend (with the blue shirt under) was the one who got punched by artest. then the guy that got punched by o'neal was the one who tackled artest after his friend got punched.

i think they both were very confrontational, maybe not deserving this...but maybe.

the guy that artest punched confronted artest, the shouted something, we don't know what he shouted.
the second guy tackled artest after the punch artest layed on his friend. o'neal doesn't wanna see a fan possibly injuring a teammate. it was 3 against thousands. he was going overboard...but wasn't the whole situation overboard?

That isn't the same guy that Artest duked with. The guy that Artest encountered is behind the guy that JO hit. I thought it was the same guy at first, but it's a second guy that came onto the floor.
And it is never shown what that guy did to be on the floor to begin with. JO was probably retaliating from a cheap shot against one of his teammates-that we didn't see.
