realistically, he has to get one for going into the stands. but thats the one time i really don't blame him.... geez it wasn't that bad of a foul, and afterwards he just laid down and waited for wallace to stop yelling at him...

It is unfortunate that beers cannot be banned at sporting events.

I just really hope that Artest is not suspended - he was shamelessly worng and the fans desserved those punches plu jail time.

Man.... that fat guy in the grayish sweater was throwin them fistacuffs! Looks like it was Fred Jones gettin pounded if I'm not mistaken. This is just crazyyyyyyy. This is a small step toward making NBA arenas an alcohol-free zone which is just plain sad.

On a lighter note I find it funny that the commentators for the Kings/Grizz game don't have the slightest clue as to what happened. * Waiting to hear Bill Waltons insightful thoughts*

why can't they... i mean let the pistons have to still pay the vendors an "average game" worth of profits so they don't suffer...

Wow. I was just about to turn off the TV when Wallace choked Artest.

I put the over-under for suspensions, adding all days by everyone at 30.

Artest actually walked away from Ben in the beginning. That fan needs to be locked up.

At one point, I thought there is no way Artest was coming out alive. Insane.

on top of that.... they should ban alcohol for 10 games... but enforce it randomly so that the fans will not be able to guess when to skip games

I agree. I think the league should take that into consideration when they decide to do something about it. However, I think what Stev Jacson did is totally unacceptable. He made matters worse by throwing punches at almost every fan in his path. That's wrong.

Easy there homeboy with that hyperbole. It is not like you are 100 years old - that is old enough to be able to say that. Lets just safely say that "that incident is officially the most bizzare spectacle in your sports history..." ;)

I really do too, and it's a shame he's going to get suspended since he tried to walk away in the first place. The ESPN guys described those chickensh*t Detroit fans perfectly.

Looks like he's going to get that break he wanted.....

That's exactly what i was thinking. A big fat dude managed to pin down Artest on the floor with the help of others. I had no idea how Artest got out of that situation.

    Fine... touche.

But, could you name something that tops this??

This has to be the biggest fan/player interaction ever... and I do consider players rushing the stands to be the most "bizzare" of events that can happen in sports.

Players fighting each other is one thing... but paltry fans trying to take on world class athletes in a fight???

    BIZZARE!

i know this doesn't compare to World Cup soccer fights, but i think it's safe to say this was the craziest fight in NBA history (i know rudy got punched really hard back in the day, but no fans were involved)...

    Agreed.

Chris Rock:"I'm not saying what he did was right, BUT I UNDERSTAND." That fan he swung at, the one who threw beer bottle on Artest, deserved what he got.

Oh man that was insane....the craziest thing i have seen since mad max. I wish i was there. Got to admit...those fans that got into fist fights with the players got some balls on them. They know theres a big chance theyll get pounded yet they still jumped in.

I'm sure there are a few others, but the one that sticks out most in my mind was at an NHL game several years ago in Philly where a fan jumped into the penalty box with a player and the fan got the snot kicked out of him. But I think tonight's incident beats that for sheer insanity.

i just was reading a few piston's fan sites and a lot of them think that the biggest suspensions will be for jackson and for artest (10 games or so)... i think wallace and jackson deserve the biggest myself - about 4-5 for wallace and 5-6 for jackson. i think artest deserves about 2-3 since he truly ignored the fans until they came at him..

that was crazy. i hope none of the pacers players get suspended besides stephen jackson. those fans should have to spend a day with kimbo slice.

anyone have a link to video of the fight?
