Yes, yes. We've all heard the Chris Rock quote. No need to keep repeating it. It's a contradiction, anyway. Not everyone would react that way. Some people are more mature than others. The appropriate response would be to point out the man to security/police and press charges after he is arrested. I think that everyone involved in this melee is an idiot. Jackson, O'Neal, Artest, Wallace; all of them. When crap like this goes down, your duty is to stand aside out of the way and let security handle it. Yes, the Detroit fans acted inappropriately, but the Pacer players made it a lot worse by going on the offensive themselves.
I am shocked O Neal did that....but he had better be suspended for a MINIMUM of a month...and Artest should be expelled completely from the league. Anyone want to bet that when the suspensions are handed out that Artest's response will have a plug for his rap cd coming out? Friggin punk should have been a man a taken on the guy who shoved him.
The NFL is thuggish too and a bunch of filty hypocrites. But I do not see them changing ever because they are too arrogant. I am not a big Artest fan but I will not blame him much. For every suspension and fines Artest receives, stupid Ben Wallace should get double or tripple that (in my dreams).
You know what is totally messed up.. the white kid and the mexican guy are going to be seeing this video of themselves getting own3d until the DAY THEY DIE
Don't you think almost any other player wouldn't lie down on the scorers table with his legs crossed and arms on his head?
See I really don't think so. I think most players know better, and I have no problem with them WANTING to go after that fan, but common sense tells them they walk away and hope that security handles it. Its their job to handle unruly fans, not the players.
What if the next flying object thrown at him was a battery or a chair or a digital camera or a HIV positive needle(i'm just trying to make a point). It's like saying in going after bin Laden is not self defense. oh wait. nevermind. I'm sure Artest didn't have self defense in mind when he reacted. But his action can be easily described as self defense by any competent lawyer. I'm not a big fan of Artest, but his actions on court yesterday, while wrong, is completely understandable.
not when there is 3 security guys that are trying to gain control of that fan .......in that position, he was not a threat to anyone, especially O'Neal the other guy, I can understand getting cold-cocked by artest because he came at Artest, unstrained, in a fighting stance
If the security sucks, then you have to do what you have to do. The guy raised his fist at Artest also.
Yeah, how the heck is O'Neal gonna defend himself in court. O'Neal- " Your honor, I had no choice but to run ten feet across the court to defend myself. "
Fair and balanced as usual (well sometimes). But I have serious problems with you refering to those NBA players as THUGS. A thug as we know is a Gangster or a killer. Neither Ron, SJax, Jermain or Fred Jones fits that bill maybe Iverson and Ray Lewis. PS. The Pacers are at home tonight (Saturday night) against Orlando Magic @ 7pm CST. Could the suspensions come down before the game? I know some magic fans hope so.
