was that pic the only p*rn on his computer? what if it wasnt him, but instead a third person that saved the file on your computer as well as his?
I agree. The guy's obviously unethical enough to download the p*rn and careless enough to save it into your folder. No reason he wouldn't try to pin it on you to keep from getting caught.
Well, judging by the security of your network, and your less than airtight case against said dude, not to mention no one likes a rat, and you haven't commented on his nature/usefulness.... I would suggest doing one of the two. Delete file, inquire with IT as to the security of the network regarding file sharing/access without saying EXACTLY why but inferring your concerns, and keeping a sharp eye out for more infractions. or Gather IT and Boss and say, look, I'm not uptight about such things, but I don't want to jeopardize my job with complacency... here's what's going on. Don't know who it is, but I'd like it on the record that I'm concerned, would like better security regarding file sharing access, and want to be sure it's understood that I know better and would not do this. The whole "They'd do it to you" argument is lowest common denominator type crap, and without being sure, you may be wayyyy in the wrong.
You need to at least bring it to someones attention. You have to ask yourself: is it worth losing your job and/or being reprimanded because you want to protect a fat, smelly man in the corner cube?
Word. You never know when the need for p*rn arises. Why, what if terrorists burst into the office, demanding p*rn...but they had cut the phone/internet lines before entering? Then we'll see who the pervert is.
