I never understood p*rnography at work. Why can't people just keep their hands off of little jimmy for 8 hours?
Maybe it is your p*rn and you are simply trying to make an elaborate cover in case anyone ever finds out, using this exact thread as evidence of your innocence?
What are you? A saint. Give that guy a chance. Guys all like p*rn, the difference is someone hides it and someone doesn't.
How in the heck do you have access to each other's profiles. At my job only the owner of the profile and the admin have access under the security tab.
Oops, nevermind you said network folder.Either way, have the net admin give access to only you on your folder.Problem solved. That way he can't get into your folder intentionally or by accident.
You need to report this as soon as possible - eventually someone else will find it and will figure out at some point that you knew about it and did nothing. This is beyond a red flag -- reporting it will make you look good unless your boss is named Michael and you work for a paper company in Scranton.
what he said. we had a supervisor at my company once and when i was just doing a random log checkup noticed he went to various "adult" websites and he was given a warning and had a lot of his internet privileges taken away. A week later I found him again looking at the same type of websites but with someone else user credentials. Both people were let go less than a week later. its also not so much the actual p*rn that is the trouble...but all the spyware, virus, malware (whatever you want to call it) that can be exposed to your network by him visiting those sites. and the flip can also be said...what if he purposefully put it in your folder and if/when he does get caught tells on you saying...well i gave some pictures to cwebbster and he didnt say anything. Personally i would as discreetly as possible talk to whoever you need to, management or IT about the issue. from the IT side depending on the type of business you are in the malware/spyware/viruses can be so crippling its not even funny. my company is in the financial field so you can just imagine the fits my boss and I have when people do crap like this...heck we've blocked every sort of social networking site for the same reason
First off, what is the point of personal folders on a LAN if you can save into other people's folders... That problem needs to be taken care of for security reasons. Second off, are you saying you know it was the culprit because you dug through everyone else's folders and found p*rn on his... what kind of security does your company have? Besides, how can you even pin it on the guy if the only proof you have is that he saved it into your folder... how does your boss know you didn't save it in his folder... And what kind of Net Nanny service does your office have...?
The way you describe this guy, it sounds like he's pretty depressed and miserable. If you think you can turn him around on your own, confront him. If not, either let it go or turn him in. Sometimes the best thing for a person is to get fired. Other times, they never recover. Good luck!
I wouldn't report the guy, but I'd certainly report what you found in your folder. If he goes down, oh well, you have to protect yourself.
I would get ahold of some good p*rn and sell it to him. Imagine the amount of money you can make from this guy. You KNOW he doesn't have good p*rn at home because he is looking up pr0n at work. What kinda loser looks up pr0n at work?
What is the point of storing p*rn on your computer now a days. Now with all of the streaming capabilities. That's not really smart, specially in the workplace.
