Maybe I should say I wouldn’t let him go for less than a top 5. If he’s hurt again this year maybe that changes. If he stays healthy his production, contract, age, and mileage add up to a very valuable asset.
I like PJ Washington but Wood can be elite offensively. PJ is probably more of a solid role player who can stretch the floor. PJ +#11+ future FRP is interesting. Wood fits more on Charlotte's timeline.
Wood doesn't fit the timeline. If you like a guy alot. (I like Murphy) and you can get a pick in the 2022 draft I would do that in a heartbeat. Even if it took some of the Harden draft picks to make it happen. In short I'm a Green/ Murphy guy and as many picks Stone can get in the 2022 draft. I'm a big believer in the 2022 draft.
That's a pretty solid proposal IMO. I personally like PJ's game. Wood only has two years left on his deal. PJ would be a restricted free agent in two years so we'd have more control over re-signing him than Wood. Tanking again next year might be in our best interest and a healthy Wood would win us games. Are we going to try to compete while Wood is here? If so, by all means keep him and try to re-sign him. If we're looking to compete in 3-4 years PJ plus a lotto pick would be pretty nice.
Wasn't implying the trade happened, as I said on bleachers report the have trade theories and I just wondered what u guys thought....♂️
hahaha keep dreaming. 11 and pj would be awesome value for him , but i doubt we can even get that much.
This. And I like Wood but he hasn't really dominated the way his stats may imply. Right now he's a guy that puts up great numbers on a bad team and it hasn't translated to wins. If Wood doesn't improve this year, we would be maximizing his potential by trading high. It may not necessarily be this trade but something for a player with great potential that won't throw 20/10 in our faces for a max contract.
In the search for a young potential all-star, why is everyone trying to trade our…..young potential all-star….?
So keep our 2 AND get another top 10 pick this year - at the expense of Wood? Sure. Sign me up. Hell why not then pull a Kevin Costner and trade THAT pick plus Eric Gordon for another top 4 pick and draft Evan Mobley AND Jalen Green!!! Someone pinch me!
The Rockets should wait for better offers for Christian Wood. Around the 6th pick the Rockets should trade Christian Wood. At least other Teams with Lottery Picks are Aware Now that Christian Wood is Available. Hopefully now there is bidding war to trade for Christian Wood. 11th pick now, wait it out and take the best bid before the Draft.
He was putting up numbers and the Rockets were winning games for that stretch after the Harden trade. The team completely fell apart after he got hurt. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. My only concern with him is health.
