One what? I don't follow. To reiterate: If you call a homosexual a f**, then their are definite racial overtones. If you call a buddy a f**, I don't think their are.
I hate Ozzie Guillen more than any other figure in sports. Did you all see that article where he was talking mess about Garner?
"He treats me like I'm some crazy little Venezuelan." Prolly because you ARE a crazy little Venezuelan. p.s. I'd lay off the Hitler smack. It *is* just a game.
someone called charlie palilo and said he was saying things about garner because garner said something about AL ball.
I remember a time when calling someone a '***' had little to do with their sexuality. George Carlin had a skit on it -- pretty offensive now...but funny for Carlin fans. Of course times have progressed over the last 20 years. In many ways, or lives aren't as carefree and gay as they once were. He should know better.
I have heard older people say "I am all fagged out" when they are real tired, I guess they can't say it anymore.
What really has stuck in Guillen's mind, however, was Garner not shaking his hand when it was offered. "He wouldn't shake my hand when we gave the lineups,'' Guillen said. "I would put my hand out there, but maybe he had a lot of distractions, I don't know. I was like, 'Wow, that's surprising.' http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-sox20.html Here's a pic from before Game 1 of the World Series: Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, left, and Houston Astros manager Phil Garner shake hands before the start of Game 1 of the World Series on Oct. 22 in Chicago. The Associated Press Ozzie Guillen is an idiot.
I find Ozzie entertaining. He may piss some people off with his comments, but like Mark Cuban, he's good for the game because he makes it more interesting. Mariotti is a *** BTW.
The point is that terms like '***' are offensive. It is dehumanizing and discriminatory. Mockingly continuing to use it isn't funny. As Max pointed out earlier using a racial slur isn't acceptable and there is no reason a homophobic slur should be.
Oh, give me a break. It depends on the company you keep. Men historically rip on each other. I call my friends all kinds of names. If they're not offended, nobody else should be.
