Impressive stats, thanks m_cable. I think 1-1 Yao is the best center in the league (when healthy). When it comes to being double teamed/fronted, it's debatable.

What are you a fortune teller? You Yao wont be one of the best centers in the league?

nick anderson screwed himself. however, you can safely say that winning the finals with a 4-0 sweep means the whole orlando team was owned.

and it's true that other centers in the league have owned yao on more occasions than i'd like to admit but he consistently owned dwight. and doesn't that belong in the other thread about players owning us? i thought this was the opposite thread.

we will have to see how yao plays when he comes back to see if that is still the case, but i am confident that yao's versatility will win out in the end. dwight is a watered down version of shaq. and prime yao and prime shaq would cancel each other out in different ways in a head to head match-up.

How on earth have we "owned" Lebron? Since his first 2 years, he gets his numbers against us for the most part. I think there was one game where we managed to shut him down to 20-something points and nothing much really assist or rebound-wise. Outside of that, all I can think of is how many times he puts up 25-30+ points and gets about 6 rebs and 6 assists.

Howard is not as good as Yao, but he is much healthier.

Please recall last season when Lebron was held without an assist for the duration of the entire game.

Artest and Battier brutalized him in that game, and Yao got the big block.

Not really. Guys like Brad Miller and Memo Okur used to always score a lot of points playing against him with their outside shooting, but Yao almost never got "owned" by opposing centers. Howard, least of all.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Michael and the Jordanaires yet!

or you can look at it this way: dwight owns a lot more centers than yao, but did not own yao

I wouldn't say we've "owned" Lebron but the Rockets do have a 10-4 record against the Cavs since he came into the league (including this year where we split with them, which you wouldn't expect). And I remember early in his career, Lebron would usually get outplayed by T-mac.

i was going to say suns barkley and malone but rethought the definition of being "owned". they still got their numbers even though we came away with the wins.

Of course I want Yao to be the best center in the league.

I've been waiting for it to happen for the last 5 years.

Every time he gets close, he injures himself...........and I am fed up with it
