both 4th down tries were in the 4th, the first time they were up 38-0. the second time, they were up 45-0.

You have an idea, you're just concealing it with your latest rationalization.

shrug NFL network showed Gibbs snubbing Belichick. In fact Sanders and Mariucci spent a little time discussing it.

Anyway, you still havent answered my question. How long do you think before Brady gets torpedoed by someone not too happy with a team going for 4th down up by 38 pts in the 4th qtr? It's no admission of guilt for you to simply give a number. :)

Yeah, I know. It's definitely not your fault. But this is exactly what I'm referring to... sportswriters consistently try to make up anger/emotion type stories because they know it's what people want to read... and in many cases, they stretch (or in this case, completely abandon) the truth to get that angle.

I know, I know, the CNNSI article had quotes as well, and obviously our different interpretations of those quotes is the debate here. But with things like the first paragraph, I think we should all be a little more skeptical than we are.

I'm going with not this season, if only because the Patriots' offensive line is ridiculously, absurdly good. I'm so freakin' jealous of that... what I'd give to even have a mediocre line in Houston.

I'm not sure I am arguing it's unsportsmanlike. I'm just not all that offended by it as I am when it happens on the amateur level.

oh yeah I agree, and the way their offense is geared around Brady making a quick read means he probably needs around 2 seconds max to get rid fo the ball. I'm talking about a late hit though.

Yeah, but usually late hits aren't absurdly flagrant. Usually late hits happen when someone is already making a bull rush, the ball gets thrown a second or so early, and he just continues and plows into the QB. Rarely do you see someone come out of nowhere after a play is done (well, unless it's the A&M defensive line ;)) and hit someone. But the New England defensive line is so good that rarely is Brady even rushed, and that's why I'd be surprised if it happens... but it's possible.

the one type of play that I think something could happen to Brady is the one that almost took out Ganon's arm when Siragusa drove him to the ground and fell on top of him after Rich had already released the ball. I think he got fined $15k for it afterwards. the refs didn't call it but he got fined later for it. I'm thinking that

But if you're losing anyway (and getting blown out), why not blitz 3 or 4 people? It's not like anything else you tried worked. Or at least, that's what I would do as a DC - not to hurt him, but to knock him down and try to discourage them from running their pass-happy offense.
