I thought it was ironic that the Lakers ended it. Because the Lakers was our 22nd win and the celtics ended ours.
it would depend on their schedule and season momentum coinciding. if they happen to beat some difficult teams at the beginning of the streak and then have a string of easy teams then they could come close. but during streaks it is often the "easy" teams that pose the biggest threat.
If the Heat break that record next season, I'll post a picture of myself. Disguised, of course, but the real me. It ain't gonna happen.
If Chicago couldnt do it in the season they won 72 games. I dont think Miami can do it, If they did it would be after the all-star game, because they have to find a good chemistry, and more good bench players.
If it's that easy, Michael Jordan and his Bulls would have done it already. People belittled our 22-game streak accomplishment. But the fact is, while there is a championship team every year, there has only been ONE 22-game streak in THIRTY years.
They simply won't do it. If you consider the truly great teams since the last team managed to do it, the Lakers in '71-'72, the fact that no one managed it speaks volumes. And it's closer to 40 years! Ain't gonna happen. Besides, karma wouldn't allow it.
Doubt they'll play the Nets 22 times. They are bound to get double digit win streaks for sure. But there's always going to be a streak snapper (Lakers, Celtics, us, etc.)
