sure. my senators are chuck "a dagger to the heart of the middle class" schumer and hill, so my pledge won't mean very much.
not at all what i said, and if you visited more often perhaps you'd know. but it's convenient label to throw out, and an easy charge to make if all one is interested in is dismissing your political opponents, as opposed to, say, killing the killers.
I'm just viewing the first post and skipping to the end, so excuse the discontinuity. I have not seen the video in question, but the advert makes me think of the song from the Team America movie. It is possible to make a respectful documentary that doesn't sound like a sing along patriotic Army recruiting music video shown to 18 year olds to get them to join. I contrast this advertisement with the following very respectful documentary (in 4 parts) from the BBC on the Royal Marines in Afghanistan. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nTip_-qZ5Bk"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nTip_-qZ5Bk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8hOaSHO3tiI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8hOaSHO3tiI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qQuiVjyDX3U"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qQuiVjyDX3U" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UQS8lnwLpPg"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UQS8lnwLpPg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> After watching the first type of music video patriotica I always feel like I've just been to a used car lot; like I need to check my wallet to make sure that someone hasn't pulled one over on me. Obviously they must work for someone or we wouldn't see so many of them, but I think personally that they are actually counterproductive for a vast percentage of the population. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink and if you keep sticking his head under water he'll just drown. The BBC video, on the other hand, makes me see and understand the soldiers and what they go through and in my by not trying to sell me anything, I am able to develop genuine respect of my own accord, instead of having it thrown in my face.
it's not a "video", it's a trailer for a full length documentary. the link's in the first post- feel free to grab a copy, it's only $14.
apparently bob gates, and joe liebermann, think the "sense of the senate" resolution "emboldens" the enemy as well. <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="320" height="260"></p> <param name="movie" value="http://hotair.cachefly.net/video/flvplayer.swf?file=http://hotair.cachefly.net/video/2007-01/gates-resolution1Mbps.flv&autoStart=false;" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <embed src="http://hotair.cachefly.net/video/flvplayer.swf?file=http://hotair.cachefly.net/video/2007-01/gates-resolution1Mbps.flv&autoStart=false;" quality="high" wmode="transparent" width="320" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /><br /> </object>
Is that original or did you copy that from somewhere? So now even the idea of discussing a policy different than what the decider has decided is aiding terrorists? We can't even talk about a possibility of something different?
As I said I'm not interested in rah-rah masturbatory propaganda 'documentaries' with thumping techno soundtracks but thanks anyway. I suggest that you watch the BBC documentary. It sets out to tell the truth, not make a point. It is free. It's also done by people who are professionals as doing documentaries, as opposed to a former marine who feels the need to devote most of his biography on the website for his film (about Marines) to making a partisan political joke. I don't know for a fact, but I believe that most people would think that it is not a 'good sign' when looking for a truthful and honest documentary if the director can't even tell you about himself without editorializing.
