Duncan....very humble like dream. Besides free throws, has no weakness to his game. Not flashy..at the end of the game you wonder how he ever dropped 20pt, 10 rb, 2 blks on you. Even though he is my favorite non-Rocket...Spurs still suck ;)

I didn't include any players who have ever played for the Rockets.

PG Steve Nash, Brevin Knight, Marko Jaric, Earl Boykins
SG Ray Allen, Kyle Korver, Brent Barry
SF Andrei Kirilenko, Mike Miller, Shane Battier
PF Dirk Nowitzki, Bo Outlaw, Nene, Popeye Jones
C Shaq (now that he doesn't play for the Lakers anymore, just because he is funny), Ha Seung-Jin

Dirk was just trying to fire up his team during that series, just like Barry and Sura did for the Rockets. Dirk had a really bad series, and he was trying to find other ways to help his team win. Did he flop a few times? Yes, but so did Yao. Dirk is a great player, and a nice guy.

Current: Lebron - Not only has the talent to carry the NBA into the next decade and a half, but he has the attitude. He might be a little arrogant, but that's exactly what type of player is needed to be the image of an entire league, and it appears that Kobe might not be able to handle those expectations. As talented as Duncan is, people will always think of Shaq as the greatest player of this era because of his personality.

All Time: Julius Erving - He was Michael Jordan before there was a Michael Jordan. He carried an entire league on his back for five seasons, but just like another Philly superstar, Wilt Chamberlain, played second fiddle to the Boston Celtics. Plus, his behind the backboard sweeping layup is, in terms of sheer athletic ability, the single greatest shot in NBA history that not even Jordan could duplicate in the height of his prime. Plus, "Dr. J", is one of the coolest nicknames ever...

...oh yeah, and the only reason he went to the ABA was because he left UMass a year early, and the NBA didn't allow the drafting of underclassmen (or it was really frowned upon), so he was a pioneer in that regard...

I have to agree with you. After Game 2, I was looking forward to seeing Dirk get grilled with the post-game conference questions, now that the Mavs were unlikely to win the series. He handled the questions with class, even though the disappointment was clear. I felt a little guilty afterwards for looking forward to his press roasting.

Kinda wish he wouldn't get some of the preferential calls over Yao, but that's not his problem.
