I will say this about Eddie YES he's throwing up bricks that could kill a small child :) But the one good thing i can see is that the's bricks are not coming through the 3 point line, at least he has shown a willingness to go down low. Dare i say Eddie might be becoming a black hole like some of the other Rockets:eek:

I think EG will be fine. We need to realize he really is like Yao Ming and Grega's Brother at this point, they need time. He is a back up, a "rookie" that is a project. He was the second youngest player in the league last year. His front court supporting cast is missing 6 eventual rotation players: Yao Ming (needs time), Grega's Brother (needs time), TMo, Rice, KT, and MT. He's not Karl Malone...

I saw improvement. He still is taking the shot, bad or not. He needs that repitition, plenty of other players have shot badly around the league so far. He'll find it sooner than later...

    1. How many players have I turned on? I haven't turned on Eddie but I am disappointed and I am no longer giving him the benefit of the doubt. He now has to prove himself. That is all. I still think he has it in him to be great but until he gets it together he is a liability.

    2. I have always been a big fan of Eddie. He is the one player I was most excited about. I am not judging his future just what he has done to this point and it has not been good. That is all. If you read more into it than that then you are letting you imagination get the best of you.

    1. Who the hell is Grega's Brother?

    2. I am not asking him to be Karl Malone. I don't expect 12 rebounds, 28 points a game. But I also don't expect 17 percent shooting and 6 rebounds a game either.

    3. Where was his improvement because I completely missed it.

    Crash5179:

1.) Grega is a poster here on the board... He really is Nachbar's brother in Slovenia. Grega and the family are coming over in December to be with Grega's Brother...

2.) Whether you saw it or not is not the point. 3-12 is better than 1-11? That's a joke by the way.. :p (not spitting) He looked better to me and that was my point. Admittedly not good - better. Blocks and rebounds count. I don't think we are involving him in the same way he will when we get some of the others up to speed and back in the rotation. AND I think he will improve in offense and in his overall game.

Can we agree to rehash after tonight, the third strike, and hopefully with KT and Rice taking some of the front court pressure off and Collier's a$$ on the bench?

You are right. RJ is averaging 17 points per game so far. He is going to be a star. Did you see that windmill last night? It was insane. Jefferson is shooting 59% from the field and 50% from behind the arc. Jefferson would bring us a starting 3 or a great backup 2 guard. He would be able to excite the dull Houston crowd with his incredible dunk, and he would help our offense and defense big time.

    Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda...

We would have had a ton of players if that were the case. Start a Steve for Jason Kidd thread guys. Then EG will look like Jefferson and we'll get 15 points a game less out of the 1 guard...

I am not starting a Steve for Jason thread. The thing is that we had Jefferson and let him go for a player that is turning out to be a bust. Wouldn't you rather have RJ, who is tearing it up so far, then Eddie, who is shooting 17% from the field. How would we have a ton of players if "that was the case". We gave up a star in the making for one of the worst offensive players that I've ever seen.

Crash, I've read a lot of your posts and thought many of them good. But after a few months here I see why people have an ignore list. I usually can scan the rants and skim over the clueless, but I actually read yours. Sometimes you sound like you're 28 and sometimes like your 8, regardless whether or not I agree with what you post. You embarassed yourself this week and have in this thread demonstrated your love of posting for the sake of posting. Eddie Griffin took bad shots in two games, and he looked relatively clueless. He did. He also was valuable last night. He was.
Clutch needs to re-evaluate this "Senior Member" thing. It attracts continuing self-gratification at the expense of discussion. And he doesn't have the time to knock off a hundred posts from everyone (I'd be like -400? :)) There's a lot of snap here and interesting tangents, and when you aren't making an arguement you are benefical in both respects. You are worse than the clueless, because you know the game better than some here. You also don't know the game very well at all. This thread just sounds like you need bragging rights in junior high this year. And as you know, it's far from your low point from this week. You are not this stupid. I hope you're having fun.

I agree with Crash on this issue. Eddie has shown no offensive skills what so ever. He didn't show any signs of an offensive game last year and is looking even worse this year. His dribbling skills are pathetic. Whenever the Rockets run a pick and role off of him outside, and he is not open, he just keeps pivoted till he has a chance to pass it out. He can't make a move to the hoop, and his post up game is aweful. Why do you think that he will be a star? Because he was the 7th pick? He hasn't shown any signs of stardom.

    Hit the deck!!!!!!

EG: 90 treys last year. Over 100 blocks. 4 last night. Cato and EG are our only big men right now, the staff is depleted. EG is younger than everyone on the team, he is still developing. EG has 2 years of higher level organized basketball. Look at how much Hakeem developed at UH through his years, and it was mainly offensively. EG has no front court support other than Cato. Obviously the guards are the emphasis offensively in games 1-2. He hasn't played with Grega's Brother and Yao Ming but for a few weeks. He is the second string (at best) PF. Jefferson wouldn't start for us, Cat would. Cat is outscoring Jefferson. Jefferson would need Kidd here to get that many points, he doesn't create on his own and wouldn't fit this team/system.

Eddie can shoot threes and block shots. That is it. Is fg% is aweful. He can't create his own shots. If players play tight D on him oustide the arch, there is no way that he will be able to create his on shot.

Yeah. That windmill was insane. We should've kept him. He is turning out to be a star, and Eddie hasn't improved at all.

Not only could we had Richard Jefferson, but we could had Rashard Lewis, remember the Sonics were ready to do a S&T if it involved EG. What were the Rockets thinking?

Crap. I actually forgot about that. People on the board were saying that it would be an aweful trade for the Rockets. That would've been a steal.
