I've met most of the Rockets(Recent past or present) at some time or another, and I haven't had any bad experiences. I remember I had a stretch where I saw a Rocket or Astro at the Cheesecake factory like 5 or 6 times in a row. I haven't ever said much to any of them, but they all seem like good guys. Besides that, I really haven't met too many athletes.
AB, what did Bubba end up doing after football? That guy was always one of my favorites; he could hit like a truck!
I think he and a few other Ex Oilers started up a resteraunt.....the name escapes me though. I believe it was a Cajun theme. Not sure if its still in business or not.
He actually opened a restaurant called "Copeland's" but it closed after a few years. He is currently promoting a line of urbanwear at 4relinc.com.
Hakeem - met him plenty of times, one of the greatest and most humblle people i've had teh pleasure to speak with. Charles - Nice guy, didnt seem too funny, but was a gentlemen nonetheless. Stevee- Awesome guy, Charming and made others feel cool around him Mobley - See Francis. Johny Estrada (not exactly a star)- Dick, Needs to be shot Marcus giles - pretty cool Reggie Miller - I didnt meet him, but a few years ago, my uncel was filling his car up in indiannapolis and he locked himself out at night, it was real cold, and like there was no one around. then some guy in front of him who was filling gas got out of his car and asked him wassup, he told him, and then the guy offered him a ride back to the house. when i got down to open the door, he was like some basketball player dropped me off, and my car is locked, i was lke who, he said some miller guy, was bald and was about 6-6... i flipped.. i was like damn, u didnt get an autograph... I figured it was Reggie, but it could have been some jailhouse scrub named miller, but ill use reggie until someone else proves me wrong. Shaq- real nice, I didnt understand a word he said, but he was pretty nice.
great story. all you need to do to confirm it is show your uncle a picture of reggie and ask if that was it.
Most of the guys that are on the list i have met during the past 2 years when i bought the sports bar. It has been really cool to meet some of these players and actually become friends with a number of them and see how nice they really are. There are some that haven't been the nicest but honestly most of the ones i have met have been real nice. Robert Reid - Real nice Guy ( i was like 10 at the time) Kenny Smith - Came by the Club - Nice Guy Antoine Walker - Quiet Nice Vince Carter Jalen Rose - Didn't Say Much Andre Johnson - Really quiet and shy but when you get to know him really nice Jonathon Wells - one of the nicest guys i have met Corey Bradford Terrell Owens Steve Francis - Honestly a real nice guy, have done business with him, he's a good guy. Cuttino Mobley - Also a real nice down to earth guy Kelvin Cato - Really Indiferent doesn't talk to anyone really, haven't seen him smile either Rashard Lewis Ray Lewis Clinton Portis - Someone had to point him out since he was so small and looked like a normal guy Stacy Mack - Another great guy always down to earth Dana Taurasi - Talked to her for a bit she was cool Lisa Leslie Tina Thompson Cheryll Swoops God there is a lot to name but the ones i actually became friends with are Steve Francis Cuttino Mobley Jonathon Wells Corey Bradford Stacey Mack All those guys are really nice and down to earth.
James Posey when I worked at circuit city, came in a few times.. bought a ton of dvds 1 night the other night he bought a used 30 inch tv.. but the funny thing is the following week he came back and returned it The last i saw of him.
I could show my uncle pictures of Reggie Miller and Cynthia Cooper and he wouldnt be able to recall the on that gave him a ride... That's what a chronic case of stupidity does to you.
Couldn't disagree more. When I was 8 and living in Reston, Virginia, Joe Theisman Jr was on my soccer team (The Flying Tigers) and Joe the QB was one of our assistant coaches. When we won the local tourney, Theisman set us up with trophies and medals plus a killer BBQ at the Theisman house. Because of Joe's celebrity status, our tourney win made the local news, and we had tons of people showing up to our games. It was awesome. He was really great with us kids. Then he ran off with Kathy Lee and Joe Jr became sort of a problem child, last I heard he was arrested for crack a year or two ago. Too bad, he was a nice kid.
