    never was swatted in school
grew up playing violent games and listening to violent songs
    had sex before marriage

and I've never went on a kill crazy rampage
never fathered a baby out of wedlock
    and
    I know right from wrong

so what ever happened to responsibility ? This spam tells me that Xians have none and just want to blame others for their poor parenting skills

What a completely simplistic and ridiculous notion to explain why pain exists in this world. One that is completely outside the pale of Christian theology, I might add.

Why in the world would you trust the government to teach your kids about God?

no kidding!! that's what baffles me, too.

i spent time with the teachers my wife taught with in public school. thanks, but i don't want them explaining God to my sons. i'll handle that, myself..at my home and at my church.

I like Jesus just fine, but I'd rather Black Sabbath was pumped out of the school's PA all day that prayers. I'm not sure which got me through more tough times.

Yes, kids can learn all they need to about God from their parents and at Jesus Barns.

The issue .. to me . .is not GOD
but they slow changing of mentality that is not
    being counterbalance with greater responsibility

    In the PAST
    God had all the authority
    and All the responsibility

We have slowly taken away God's Authority
    but
Who is responsible for the results?

I am not saying moving away from the ALL POWERFUL VENGEFUL GOD
    is a bad thing
    BUT
we need to be more responsible for our actions

Kids today get QUITE a bit less God in their life
    than we did
and even less than their grandparents

Did bad things happen back then yes
    SO the question is:
Are kids today worse than they were back in the day
    MORALLY SPEAKING
    IMO
Kids are a bit colder and more harsh and insensative
Kids are a bit more spoiled [use to/Demanding to do what they want when they want ]

Being an old fogey i could be Biased

    So
the question is. . . Who is responsible for the attitude/morality
    of Kids Today -
    US
so the question is. . WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT

back in the day . .they prayed about it
Now .. . what do we do

Teaching your children about God is no substitute for communicating with your children and being involved in their lives, which would have prevented the school incidents listed above.

I think the primary regret is in not letting God be in the fabric of our institutions-- not in the fact that we are not "teaching" God to our children!

December 16, 1988: Virginia Beach, Virginia - On Friday, Nicholas Elliott, 15, opened fire with a SWD Cobray M-11 semiautomatic pistol on teachers at his school (Atlantic Shores Christian School). His first shots struck Algebra teacher Karen Farley in the arm; when she went down he killed her at point blank range. Nicholas then injured Sam Marino. He turned the Cobray toward his classmates, but the gun jammed and he was quickly subdued by M. Hutchinson Matteson, a teacher, before he could fire another round. Nicholas is serving life in prison plus 114 years for this assault.

Somebody must have been asleep at the switch.

Anyhoo, going back on topic, Buck, could you forward me the C1@LIS e-mail? I have this, uh, friend who's interested.

You are absolutly right. Abortion kills many orders of magnitude more innocents than school shootings.

    Dear Mr. God,

My Mom fixed me a grilled cheese for lunch yesterday and when I took it out of the wrapper I saw your wife. I was very hungry so I ate it anyway – I’m very sorry.

    Sincerely,

    Concerned Student

That's only because the phenomenon of fetus-on-fetus violence has yet to be explored. Why just the other day I was intimidated on the subway by a mean looking blastocyst. I think he had a knife or something because I saw him get on a bronx bound train.

As someone who spent 8 years teaching Middle and Upper School English, Spanish, and Social Studies in a private Quaker school, I can assure you that a lot of kids that get admitted to those schools are there because of their troubles at home or at public school.

We don't know enough about that kid or even that school to be certain of very much, but you can stop reading at the headline if you want. No one can stop you.

I know, I was sort of embarrassed to post that after the extensive and systematic documentation and attribution in the email that you posted for us.

Anywaly there's a very long article about it in an Atlantic Monthly from the 1990's that I read, related to the unbelievable ease with which one can get a gun in this country, in Virginia in particular.

Have fun at your local library if you want to check it out.

Does the long article deal with the problems of the child and the capabilities of the school or is it just about gun procurement?

That's right. There's no need to take guns out of kids' hands so long as we shove a Bible in the other. And it's not about the moral bankruptcy of the big gunmakers and the rn's who support them, it's about the moral bankruptcy of today's children.

And how is the SPAM you posted different in "reasoning" from Pat Robertson's God wanted 9/11 to happen?
