This is another big one. Deb, I know you know, but the POW table is a huge tradition in the military...there's even a table set up in most chow halls to honor POWs and the flag flies somewhere on just about every base. When Trump...a guy that found every medical condition possible to avoid serving...was attacking McCain for being captured, I'm sure that had a huge impact on troop morale. You just don't mess with POW's.

This is going to vary greatly based on branch and occupation. I can tell you that direct combat enlisted occupations (infantry and special forces enlisted) still overwhelmingly support Trump.
Direct combat enlisted occupations do not compromise a majority of the military. Branches like Air force and officers in all branches are going to be far less fond of Trump. They probably offset the hardline support for Trump amongst grunts. Your perception of Trump's support is from your experience as a grunt such as myself. You like myself didn't have much exposure outside that infantry bubble.
