Don't we have a random trade thread? Anyway, I don't think we should trade anyone, we are making progress and by playoff time we are going to beast on everyone.
You know why this thread is rated as 1 star? We just won! Try to bring this up again right after our next losing game. It'll be a 5 stars thread.
Ewww 1) Head 2) Rafer 3) Battier Now fillers or fishing baits could involve Landry or Wafer. Even with Tmac's dunk of his night I would still see what we can get hopefully his stock rising last night.
Head, Dorsey, and even TMac. Don't know what Morey has in mind but am sure it will be trade that will help.
Wafer makes very little money so he could not be traded for much more than a draft pick. So, unless we are getting a lottery pick, trading away a promising asset like Wafer IMO is a very bad idea.
Too late! Pray that Jeff Van Gundy takes a coaching job somewhere. He's about the only coach who will welcome Shane. He might even give up a #8 pick for him.
You have to start wondering if Artest is going to get traded as the deadline approaches. Is Artest going to re-sign with us next year? If not we take the chance on losing him for nothing. That is the biggest question for the Rockets as the deadline gets closer.
In my opinion, I believe that Luther Head will be the only one possibly traded. And don't expect much back.. Joey Dorsey probably won't be traded, because the Rockets see him as possibly a future prospect we'd like to hold on to.. Carrol Dawson IS working with him and all... And I don't expect Morey trading Artest, because he does bring that toughness and D which we'll need in the playoffs. And even if he doesn't resign, it's not like we're losing him for nothing. We get all that cap space to use on the upcoming free agent class which consists of some incredible role player guys (ex. Lamar Odom).
Whats more leverage in obtaining a "better" player? Trading someone with loads of talent, but quite a bit of baggage like Artest, or bidding wars on Free Agents, in which the higher tier players are restricted??? Answer me this!
I don't think that we would be able to attain someone of equal talent of Artest by trading him. First of all, he isn't having that great of a year statistically and his time is running out before the deadline to improve. Secondly, I believe that people are still cautious of bringing someone of his nature in.. But I think that Houston could be pretty confident when signing free agents, considering that we have an already potent team without that 'third guy'. We're attractive. I don't see why anybody wouldn't sign with us besides our injury history. Plus, many players like the city of Houston.
I think the rockets should consider or try to package Landry & Wafer for David Lee. Landry & Lee are similiar type of players except Lee is giving All Star level production now and can cover the 3/4/5 spots. Lee will be a restricted free agent. Even if it costs around $8M to $10M to keep him. That'll be $35M of guaranteed contracts in 2010. Enough room to sign a max free agent. The Knicks want to clear cap space for two max contracts in 2010 but they still need good players to surround those guys except they need to be on cap friendly contracts. Landry and Wafer would fit that bill.
Lee and Scola are too similar. Although my constant fear is that Landry is one knee-bump from being out of the NBA, he does give us a different look. Also, if Wafer goes, where do we get instant offense and higher gear athleticism? We built a slow, half-court team and that is why Memphis is torching us tonight with their speed and fast pace.
A trade asset is something that is valuable and teams would want and Luther Head and Chuck Hayes are not that... The real trade assets we have are Landry, Brooks, and Wafer, and we are not trading them.
