guys, step away from the ledge.I know that everyone seems to be on suicide watch after the draft on wednesday. For Vancouver(yes, Vancouver)to not even include Mike miller, who is Tmacs best friend,in the deal was a slap to rockets management.I blame eddie griffin for all this...but there is hope C.D was on the airways yesterday saying that they will Bring Spanoulis over...anyone that subcribes to FOxsports international prolly' witnessed the But kicking he dished out to Andrea bargnani's team in the FIBA tournament!
TJ, is that you? We are bringing V-Span over? Is that even possible? If we get V-span and Mike James, that team could contend right there. DD
Yeah because Miami with Haslem, Williams and Walker starting didn't do anything this year now did they? Hillboy, The team is RIGHT THERE with a healthy Tmac and Yao, RIGHT THERE ! Yao is improving and getting more confident every day, and as long as Tmac doesn't fall on his tailbone before the season opens again he will be fine. And as long as we have those 2 we have a chance......and now you add a great complimentary piece like Battier, wow....a couple more and we are in great shape. This team will not even come close to resembling last year's team, and we got younger too. DD
you know that famous soundbyte by A.I,"practice,we talking about practice, main" I think he was on to something...Yao and T-mac should not be allowed in any pre -season games...lol
Because no coach he's ever had has felt he warrants 30-35 minutes of playing time per game. Doesn't that make you wonder? Stro was a bust. Ever watch him on the court? He looks lost. Nothing going on behind the eyes. Horrible basketball IQ (and, I'd put money on, a low IQ generally speaking). We dealt away his bloated contract. Good riddance, I say.
exactly, I think the Rockets management was HUGELY dissappointed in him not being able to outplay JUWAN and an undrafted rookie.
I think we now HAVE to pick up Mike James in order to have enough firepower. He has the game that benefits from the new rules and gives us that extra offense. Alston James Head McGrady James Head Battier McGrady Novak Howard Battier Hayes Yao Mutombo I think this lineup if healthy can compete with anyone in the league. We have shooters (James/McGrady/Battier/Head/Novak), a post-up beast in Yao Ming and creators with Alston and McGrady. The McGrady/Yao pick'n' roll is almost unstoppable with James/Battier/Novak on the floor to spread it out. With these shooters it will be virtually impossible to double McGrady or Yao. I also see Battier helping us with one of our greatest problems, getting the damn ball inside to Yao Ming. He can be that Robert Horry type passer in the post that we need.
It's facinating how James has been pumped up as the "savior" of the Rockets this off-season. He's going to come in and be the difference maker, regardless of who we picked in the draft, or didn't pick. Pretty high expectations for someone traded away a season ago, with as big, "good riddance!" from a lot around here. And he's not signed. What if he isn't signed? What's plan B, C, D and F for the James supporters? I'm really curious. After what we did with the 8th pick and Swift, how can anyone predict anything? Hell, they may be planning on Oprah at the 4 spot!
Building around Yao, T-Mac, and Battier. Rockets should surround them with shooters. #1 priority sign Mike James #2 Trade for Redick #3 sign Scott Padgett Then try to use the 1.6 TE on either Steve Blake or Travis Diener. If Warriors are looking to dump salary. JHo & Rafer for Troy Murphy. This team would out-shoot the Suns.
DD, See although i do really like Gay and his upside, this is a 4 yr window for the Rox. I think Battier Is a excellent defender, reliable shooter and a glue guy who does everything on the floor. Now if gay becomes the 2nd coming which he has the talent, the people will liik back, but if the Rox are playing for a title, no one will care.
Yea, especially considering a lot of these people are the same people who cheered for the MJ/Alston trade. Hilarious.
I could be wrong, but if we bring V-Span how can we possibly get James unless he wants to get less than the MLE. Isn't James looking for about 7-8 mill anyways?

Miami also had Posey, Mourning, GP who were contributing a lot. Who do we have, RyBo? T-Mac has passed his prime, at this stage DWade > Tmac. The game is moving towards athletic swing players who can attach the basket, how much more can Tmac's back hold up if he is to drive the basket all the time? And how did we get younger? We traded Gay and Swift for Battier, whom is older than both of them. Remeber JVG said we needed to become more athletic, younger. Is there a team that's more un-athletic than the Rockets? I can't think of any.
