I still do not see how getting out of the first round proves Lowry is better than Rafer. Whatever though. Begin Dogpile! YOU SUCK FOR STARTING THREADS N STUFF!
Which is exactly the reason I posted this thread in response on the same day... because I couldn't fathom how SO MANY PEOPLE bought into the "oh noes! Rafer is gone!" line of thinking. Talk about reactionary...
I was one of them that were upset. I was like "who the hell is Kyle Lowry? How do you say his name? Is it low-ry? or law-ry?" I will eat my crow now.
I knew Lowry was a player and I wasn't at all disappointed when Rafer was treated. I knew Lowry was a slasher who could finish at the rim (a welcome change), but what I didn't know was that he could actually hit his midrange j's and the occasional set shot 3. I also didn't know about his lockdown D. Props to Morey! Some of the posters here just failed to investigate the player before making their conclusions.
I don't know who said that. I think the reason they bumped this is because this guy said our season was sold by trading for Lowry. It's hard to call it a sold season, however, when we've gotten further than we went in the last 12 years.
Which has little to do with our PG and much to do with the health of Yao, our first round opponent and numerous other factors. The fact we won the first round does not really vindicate the trade. I don't think the goal of this year was to just win the first round.
Without the best big man in this league, Rafer brought the Magic into the second round playoffs by his single hands.
Apparently CaseyH didn't take all that into account. He mentioned the trade as the sole reason our season was over. He doesn't think it out like you and the rest of us.
