Ive seen Lowry's numbers. They are not great, but I know lot of fans wanted AB to start over Rafer, that's the only reason I said that. When AB has his bad games, fans will say we miss Rafer, when Rafer has his bad days, fans wanted AB to start. I mean that's just how it is. For all the events/drama that have gone with the Rockets this season, nothing just comes as a surprise anymore.

It will be a stupid trade unless we move Tracy for Baron, because to trade your starting point guard for garbage makes no sense. I agree, this season just got sold... if nothing else comes out of this.

    5-Star thread.

Funnily enough if McGrady can play again this season it coincidentally puts the ball back in his hands...

I said the same thing, but its has to be something else to it.

I hate as much as the next person, but this can't be it. I would rather start brooks and bench rafer, rather than giving him us for this

This is a stupid decision by the team if we lose Ron later in the off season. Lets no forget that we gave TWO first round picks and Bobby Jackson away just for possible a one year run with Ron Artest. This is disappointing...

What this trade really speaks about the Rocket's mindset

is that they give up on this season.

    Nowhere to hide that.

    awesome in-depth analysis.

I think what this trade really speaks of.....is that Rafer is (and quite oddly, all of a sudden) highly overrated by this board, and not very valuable to the rest of the NBA.

They just realized how important a PG is to the team.

The move came a little bit late, but it is all good.

Someone explain to me how trading an average point guard is giving up on our season?

Yeah, and I am 5-0 against Michigan IM Champion, so what? Who else was playing well then? Random stats is random stats.

We traded Rafer but we did not get any better PG back. I sensed ... OMG, Head is going to be the back up PG again and will get his playtime.

If we traded Artest for scrubs, I would agree with your sentiment, but it is Rafer that we are talking about here. If you forget who Rafer is, that's the guy that half of the board wants to kill after each game. Aaron is a better shooter and penetrator than Rafer. We'll do just fine with Brooks as the starter. The only area where Aaron suffers is on defense. That's where Kyle Lowry comes in.

why would we bring in a role player for a floor general? I'm thinking Lowry will be traded again(hoping for Baron)

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm not a big fan of Rafer, but when you make trades, it's supposed to be either a salary dump or improvement right? We didn't trade up, we got a younger version of Rafer at a cheaper price which tells me it was about not paying the luxury tax, rather than trying to improve the team.
