"Starting point guard for scrubs" sums it up pretty well. Rafer was the leader of the team. I have to believe that this sets up another deal today or in the future because there's no upside on the court to this trade.
rather: I like Alston in interview, but not on the court. And Lowry is 22 and cheap. Excellent trade.
We traded Rafer Alston, not Ron Artest or Yao Ming. Trading an average to below average point guard for one that has some potential isn't selling away our season. Overreaction by many on here.
If giving u the seasons means going out in the 1st round, we've done that with Rafer... If giving up the season means not making the playoffs without rafer, I laugh at that suggestion. Mr. Inconsistency was leading us no where. Did he help us down the stretch in the 4th Quarter collapses? He was a main contributor. " It is dumb to expect us to improve with the same PG at the controls.
Everyone wanted this guy out and now everyone wants Alston back hahaha. Im fine with this trade. Give it a shot and see what happens. Not like we were going to contend for a title at this point of season. I still think we can past 1st round but thats about it. It will be interesting to watch, IMO

Lowery is a lot like Andre Miller minus the play-making skills and midrange game. Ok, he shoots 3s like Miller and that's it.

Skip was never a championship PG. Never. At least this puts the rockets in a good situation to retool the PG position. I was so tired of yelling NO at my TV everytime Rafer shot the ball.
What's he going to do when the defense GIVES HIM THE OPEN JUMPER, pass it to a covered man? He has to shoot, period, and he will suck more than Rafer at doing it.
