And we have been ahead in the fourth quarter in virtually every game as well, what is your point?

I remember another era where our brand of basketball was called "uglyball" and it worked out pretty da#ned good for us.

I agree with you that we should be doing better against the second and third tier teams, but I think it is our lack of chemistry, not the style of bball we play, that is allowing those teams to stay close. Our chemistry is improving, Yao is learning how to keep his feet planted on defense, TMac is learning where everyone will be, and we are improving.

As our chemistry improves, so will our record. You seem to act like being 4 games below .500 is the end of the season, and it might be if we were 70 games into the season, but we haven't even played 20 games yet.

I will accept your apologies for this statement in April.

Minnesota has pretty effectively transformed themselves into a half court team, Sacramento has Miller and Webber (both good in the half court), and the Nets had KMart and Kidd running the half court for them (and of course, they lost two years running to superior half court teams).

Dallas is a bad example. They haven't even been past the second round.

Come on Andy, that is funny.

You have to expect that now and again given your public stance on the issue.

As someone else who is not afraid to post an opinion I admire that about you.

Too many posters on here just rip into others opinions without ever offering one of their own.

    1998-99

How many All Stars was on that underacheiving 8th place team
    Ewing. . .. Allan Houston . . .LJ . . .Latrell Sprewell . . .Marcus Camby and a yound Kurt Thomas

1st round: Miami Mourning Hardaway Mashburn PJ BRown Porter [a GOOD TEAM]
2nd Round: Atlanta - Mutombo, Steve Smith, Laphonso Ellis, Blaylock, Alan Henderson
3rd Round: Indiana Miller Smits Rose mullin Davises perkins

Make no Mistake. . that 8th place team . .. UNDERACHEIVED all season . .. . . [I'm hoping this maybe a omen for this years rockets]

then came together for a playoff run...

    Rocket River
his taking THAT 8th place team is not near Rudy's 6th place team to a championship

I know, it is just asinine.

At least room4rentsf came up with observations about the games and his perceptions of the way we are playing. ArtV decided to respond to a post that I thought was well reasoned and made some good points. I guess if I had posted something silly like "JVG blows and that is why we suck," I would have deserved a comment about mar1juana use. I don't think the post ArtV was responding to sounded anything like what I would expect from a pothead.

Until JVG lets go of the reigns and lets the offense open up, we'll never blow out any teams in this league.

We're like the Baltimore Ravens of the NBA. And our scores are pretty NFLesque too. I'm waiting for a 24-10 victory.

*seems like we are starting to show some signs of hope. I dont think we can lay that at the feet of JVG because we were not playing his style of ball to win these games. We were more hectic/up and down/ let TMac create for himself.

Right on. That's the key difference. I don't expect our team to win 50 plus games, or make playoffs for that matter because of the whole new rosters, and PF, PG issues. But I expect 'me to play hard, to show me that they are improving as a team. I need 'em to show me hopes.
