Yeah you're right. After Clippers losing to Lakers tonight. OKC is the one team I wanted to avoid in the 1st round.
Clippers screwed up. The Rockets will now have a possible tougher first round opponent. What also sucks is if the Clippers face the Warriors in the first round. The Warriors will get a cupcake first round opponent with a convient flight to and from Oakland.
So theoretically we still have a decent shot at #2 seed. Step 1: Houston wins out vs. Suns, Thunder. Finish 54-28 Step 2: Denver loses @Portland, loses @Utah defeats Minnesota Finish 54-28 Step 3: We own head to head tiebreaker. We finish #2. Denver finishes #3.
Still this. If the Rockets are as good as everyone thinks... And one thing guaranteed, whether it's Spurs, Thunder or Clippers, CF will complain Golden State got an easy opponent. Many see the Thunder as a team that will "push" the Warriors. Nope, don't see it. Warriors in 5 over LA Warriors in 6 over Spurs/Thunder(possibly 5 but not 7)
And clippers' last two games are against Warriors and Jazz. Good job tanking tonight against the fakers. Dont want to face OKC di the 1st round.
Rockets going to play OKC round 1 then if they win GSW round 2? RIP lol OKC is basicaly top 4 team talent wise in the West. I'd rank them over Utah/Portland
Golden State will try very hard to beat the Clippers in order to play them in round 1 It would be a cupcake matchup compared to SAS/OKC..
It'd be fun if that Tuesday OKC game came down to some scenario where a win (or loss) would mean we lock them up as an opponent or guarantee not to face them. It probably won't be settled until Wednesday though.
If we stay at 3 OKC gets beat by us but wins every other game while Clippers lose out but Spurs win out we would play the Spurs.
Dont see any of those teams going more than 5 games against Rockets or GSW cos they cant win on the road and cant beat either team back to back (Win 2 home games) + (win 1 or 2 road games) + (win 1 home game if necessary)
I mean I'd rather have Clippers than OKC but tbh do we really want angry playoff PBev harassing Harden and CP for 4-7 games?
the clips, blazers, and nuggets are the easiest outs. sucks that'll we'll probably end up with okc now. i kept saying LAC was gonna tank!
LOL but Doc Rivers want to call people out in the media that said they wouldn't make the playoffs. Focus on closing out the year strong dude.
