The scary part is, in any 3 way tie situation, if Denver dropped a game somewhere else (eg Utah), Portland goes from 4 to 2 seed.

Damn I hate that we only play 3 games against Portland this season, and all 3 were before McCollum and Nurkic went down!

I wouldn't mind playing POR without Nurk in the 2nd round tho

Apparently Booker is sitting out the final 3 games for the Suns after spraining his ankle. And Oubre might be out too. So Sunday's game is a layup for the Rockets if they don't screw around.

And they better not screw around. The one game I attended in person last season was against Phoenix and the Rockets(who were resting a few players) found themselves down 21 at one point to a very shorthanded, awful Suns team before coming back and winning on that Gerald Green buzzerbeater.

Philly loss tonight makes our magic number = 1 for home court advantage over them in the NBA FInals. Only 2 teams in the East the Rockets won’t have HCA over: Milwaukee and Toronto.

Yeah, it was frustrating that Philly choked down the stretch and probably handed Giannis the MVP(or at least handed voters an excuse to pick him definitively over Harden). But it's not unthinkable that either the Sixers or Celtics emerge from the East and for the Rockets to have home court over both in a potential Finals matchup would be huge.

Rockets win clinched at least the 4th seed and Home court in the 1st round. Rockets still control their own destiny for the 3rd seed and have a shot at the 2nd seed.

Rockets also clinched Home court in the NBA Finals over every Eastern team except for Milwaukee and Toronto (Rockets can’t catch either).

It's looking more like Clippers, Nuggets, Warriors.
I think this is ideal for us.

Meanwhile for the warriors, it's looking like spurs, jazz, rockets.

If the Nuggets play against OKC... that's going to be a war. I hope they go 7 games and are exhausted when they come to TC.

Depends if you want a shot at the #2 seed.
If yes, root for Portland. If no and you are content with number 3 seed, root for Denver.

    Doesn't matter.

As long as the winner tonight loses the next one.

I'm rooting for Denver. I don't think us getting 2nd seed would make any difference in MVP race. I'd rather be 3rd seed and play Clippers in 1st, and Denver/OKC in 2nd. I think that's a better match up for us. This way Warriors will get Spurs in 1st and Portland/Utah in 2nd.

honestly, even if Harden gets the 2nd seed they aren't voting him MVP. I would like to avoid OKC/SA at all costs. I say 3rd seed

The problem is Clipper might get the 7 seed since they lost tonight’s game vs Lakers.

I think we are playing either San Antonio or OKC. If we win the last game, we play San Antonio. If we lose, we play OKC.

I think it will be OKC, Nuggets, Warriors.

OKC will play both the Rockets and the Bucks when it doesn't count for them anymore (If Denver beats Portland and wins its other games). The clippers still have the warriors and the Jazz.
