I like the old uniforms as well, though I'd like to see a more progressive look from the originals. The old uniforms may not be classic like the Yankees or whoever but they're the uniforms that I saw the Rockets win two championships in, so they're classic to me.

Gotta hate the teddy bear. That thing sucks. Give us some dunking astronaut or something instead. And whoever that was that called the Spurs previous unis "that fiesta bullcrap", all I can say is thank you. LMAO:cool:

well the old logo was sweet, I would like to see an overall red jersey and away blue, and have silver trim, on both.

What, have you talked to everyone in the city? I don't know one person who doesn't want to go back to the traditional Rocket uniforms. I think you are just dead wrong, unless you're talking about people within the organization. It doesn't surprise me that they don't like the real Rocket colors, considering the 'uniforms' we have now.

Changing the colors are a big part of the attendance woes, IMO. It's like they aren't the Rockets anymore. No one wants to go out and watch some team with a blue court, with green seats. People don't know what team this is or where it came from. It's like the Rockets left the city a few years ago or something. That's how a lot of people feel.

The Astros SHOULD go back to those uniforms. If not the home ones, definitely the road ones that didn't have the big rainbow in the middle.

It WAS a classic. Tradition makes a classic. Not only a classic, but CLASSY. Mustard color? It's a BASKETBALL. What's so hideous about a freaking basketball?

I just want to know who "very few people" are (or aren't).

Definitely red and gold for me. I agree with The Freak. A lot of people don't identify with this team any more.

Jeff, I also think you are wrong. Who are these "very few people" you are talking about? It is like the Rockets are trying to brush the older fans under the rug and cater to the younger crowd. The new logo is a joke IMHO. The more simple the logo, the better it is.

The Rockets aren't trying to brush the older fans aside Bob. They know if they get the kids, they'll get their parents to buy the kids the new cool stuff... so why not go after the kids? Well, that's what I'd do anyway... :)

Also, give me a break folks. If you don't go to a basketball game because you don't identify with a team's uniforms... well... I'll stop. :D I'm willing to bet that people would come and watch them in polka dots if they were winning. Another run at a championship could do wonders for attendance...

Red is strong, menacing on the road. Jammies are not. Please try some red with metallic gold thread interweave for flash and shine in motion. w/ italic houston and # on front, v neck, black trim.

Away, white with silver interweave. cool max. black trim.

Simple, classic - retro modern cool, w/ stylin' playground flash.

    NO LOGO.

Logos suck. Keep logos off the unis.

Ok... just for merchandise, a rocket orbiting a basketball. No teeth, please. Similar to old logo, slightly different.

Such emotion over a uni. But, we do have a softness for the men who wore the ketchup and mustard. Time for salsa and championship gold, perhaps.

A 'hint' of Retro. A dash of 'W's'!

Tradition does wonders for attendance as well. Just ask the Yankees, Knicks, Lakers, Dodgers, RedSox, Celtics...etc.

Sure Bob, and I'm sure that tradition for those teams was brought about by their unis. :D

Winning creates tradition. Just like every year that the Lakers win a championship, kids flock to buy their jerseys. Just like every year Jordan was a Bull and they won, kids flocked to buy their garments. Just like the Celtics sold a ton of their merchandise when they were winning. Their unis were made popular because people wanted to identify with a winner - not the other way around.

I hope they get whoever designed the Mavs' stuff. I love their logo and colors. It's contemporary without being cartoonish.

How then do you explain the RedSox, Knicks, Mets, Cubs? It wasn't because of winning Championships.

Cleveland Browns-underrated uni. Sure the colors may not be the most appealing but it's not the outlandish crap that we see nowadays. The logo-less helment is nice also.

Then why don't these major media market teams change their uniforms frequently? Wouldn't they make tons of $$$ off of their fans who have to buy new hats, shirts...etc?

Because over time the teams uni becomes the brand. Instant recognition. Like a Nike swoosh or the Jordan Jumpman. The Rockets should have never scraped the red and gold. It was well on its way to becoming the Houston brand, plus it had a winning tradition. Detroit is the perfect example.

The Old School colors....they are the true classics ! All those now also worn through championship tee shirts and those too tight shots are the only Roxs clothes for me on the bb court. I would love to see em go back, but it ain't gonna happen. one word, marketing. BTW, when the hell is Cattino Mobley gonna grow up and become the player he shows from time to time ? He stands out there dribbling the game away, and jsut isn't being the team player we need. I consider him grade A trade bait.
