While the overall numbers so far are similar to last year(team PPG, differentials) the truth lies in the fact that if last years role players shot this poorly, that team would have averaged about 10-15 less PPG.

Luther frickin Head is a 40% career 3pt shooter. That is what his average is. Not just last year but his rookie campaign as well. This is what you can reasonably expect from him. Can a 40% career 3pt shooter have a season where he only shoots 35%?? Sure, but that would be a 25% increase over where he is right now.

If you watch the games, the shots that arent falling are usually wide open. Rarely you will see a bad shot by Rafer, or a quick ill advised shot from James. But for the most part, its the wide open 3 that isnt going in. And the law of averages dictates that they will start to fall. NBA caliber players(and yes, all the Rockets role players would be on rotations for just about every team in the league, even starting for some) dont just forget how to shoot over the summer.

To put it another way, the Rockets are getting many more quality shots than they did last year. Yes, even Rafer shooting an open 3 pointer after the ball moves around is a good shot. His career tells us he will hit one out of every 3. If you shoot the ball in the flow of the offense, you are much more likely to hit it than shooting on a pullup or off the dribble.

It can be anyone on the floor...it's about making reads of what the defense gives you and reacting. Do you even watch basketball? :(

Well, if the guards and forwards would stop camping at the 3pt line and start moving with out the ball, it would help open up the offense a LOT.

third one? third what? we just need good movement and ball movement, and the lakers have that down pretty well when they're actually using the triangle.

Tough schedule, new players, new coaching system. You should be happy we're 6-3 as it is, you ungrateful dolt.

I think you're reading too much into that quote. What Rick was trying to say there is that there is that every player on the court must be able to make the pass, and there needs to be a willingness to pass out of a good shot opportunity for a better shot opportunity. That is a characteristic of both the Triangle offense and Adelman's attempt at the Princeton offense. It doesn't mean that the Rockets are going to run the Triangle.
