Our "new" offense is looking more and more like our old offense every game. I am disappointed with Adelman. I think he is not performing as expected. Our "new" offense is slow and boring.
Our "new" offense is like JVG offense.
Our "new" offense is not showing how deep our team is.
Our "new" offense is starting the same players as last year.
Our "new" offense is not getting us enough penetration.
Our "new" offense is not showing Yao's versatility like I expected.
Our "new" offense is held up by poor shooting.

Our "new" offense is not "new"

Come on RA. I am still waiting for the day we run the court, Yao learns to dunk and Tmac drives in and gets the points or the foul everytime. We are very capable of doing this.

Vagina Spanoulis Sucks! He couldn't shoot worth a damn and turned the ball over every other time he touched it. Not to mention that he quit the NBA like a big baby. Had mommy calling for him and everything. He also got too scared to face his former team in the preseason. V-Gina was and will always be trash.

Maybe two different coaching staffs evaluated the talent and both came to the conclusion that, contrary to fans yelling about VSpan or Francis or Bonzi or whatnot, this is the ideal offense for this group and the players they play are the best they've got.

we still dont have guys that can consistently knock down open threes, not that the offense system is bad....
our 3-pt FG % is 29, not too bad... but all other top teams (SA, PHX, DALLAS, UTAH) are all shooting above 35%.... and Boston is shooting close to 40%

Only way we will have a new offense is with a new point guard running it.

The offense is going to be under MAJOR examination while Tracy's out. Without him to plug the holes on the court that the offense clearly shows (we can't shoot, we don't penetrate enough, we don't THINK/DECIDE fast enough) Adelman's system better be able to hold up the the pressure of the next few games or the Rocket's need to make the right moves to get the right players for this system. Get rid of Rafer unless he drives more, Snyder unless he learns to stay in front of his man, and find a better backup for Yao who doesn't have stone for hands.

Worthless post. T-mac has been great, yao has been dunking more (not that it matters...), the rockets are averaging way more possesions per game then under gundy. If bonzi, alston, battier, and james were shooting their career FG percentages, there's a good chance this team is undefeated right now.

It's also harder to implement adleman's offense then gundy's. Gundy relied on set plays. Adleman relies on reads and improvisation to get an offense that flows. It takes a while to figure that sort of thing and run it smoothly, to learn to read and react. A close game against last years best regular season team, a game where our role players couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, and a game in which the quarterback of our offense (in terms of scoring and b-ball IQ) got hurt in the 1st half, and you're ready to quit?

Didn't we beat the jazz? the spurs? Didn't we do all that with most of ourrole players shooting 10% below what they are historically capable of this season? We don't need freak out posts after every loss. If you have to freak our, at least make some arguments that make sense.

Don't you think Adelman is trying his best to implement the new offense with the team? Phil Jackson says it takes two years for players to get comfortable in his triangle offense. I can only imagine Adelman's complex motion offense will take at least that long. Matt Bullard even said the team's barely scratching the surface. Did you honestly think we'd look like the 02 Sac Kings within a few weeks? We'll be LUCKY to look like that by next year. We're taking babysteps right now so be patient.

im not freakin out. this makes perfect sense. You tell me when bonzi rafer battier and james will all shoot their career percentage. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN in the same game. Any team who can do that will almost be guaranteed a title.

If Rafer drives more, all he will do is put up some brick teardrop floaters, that will in turn cause tears to drop from my eyes. Rafer can penetrate then dish out, but to who? Shane? Plus when Rafer penetrates, we all know he has about a 4% of making it, which the defense will recognize and it won't really help us at all. Just let Steve or Brooks have a shot, see what they can do, or just trade Rafer.

Exactly. This is a read and react offense, not a control offense, so it recquires a lot more practice and experience to run well. Adleman is phasing it in, and even SAID (were our poster paying attention) that early on he'd keep some van-gundy esque plays to give our players framiliar scoring oppurtunites.

It will never happen that a player hits the...uhhh...average amount of shots they normally hit? Ummm....It's called the average for a reason...i'm not sayng everybody needs to play out of their mind, just that on balance put together, they shoot around their career percentage, as opposed to the status quo, in which battier, james, bonz, and alston, are all shooting WELL below (about 10 %) their career numbers

anyhow, that's all irrelevant. This offense takes time. Ask for instant gratification, and yeah, you'll likely be dissapointed. This team has only had a little over a month running an extremely complicated offense...and it already looks nothing like gundy's, and has registered big wins over the defending champs and the team that bounced us last year. My only point is, there's no need to go chicken little all over the inevitable growing pains.

Do you watch our games at all? It's obvious we're a work in progress, and we're FAR from a finished product.

Career percentage is the guy's AVERAGE performance, not his BEST. Why can't you expect all players to play to their average performances?

Rafer and Battier are not forcing their shots (I'm not sure about Bonzi and James). They are just not hitting at their normal percentage. Why can't we expect them to shoot better, even with the same offense as is now?

Like last night's game. If Yao hit his normal FT percentage, we would have won the game. Yao's missed FTs had nothing to do with the offensive system. Think about this. We didn't have T-Mac in the second half, and shooting as poorly as we did, we still almost pulled it off.

It is true that the offense is not clicking yet. But it is already as good as JVG's. I have said it more than once. All the so-called new talents, except Bonzi, are not making any difference so far. James, Francis, Scola, Brooks are all non-factors at this point.

Also, we are in a tight schedule. Hopefully, when they get some more practice time, the result will be better.

New system is different for sure. Nobody moaning at the courtside in RA's offense.

Adelman said in the chron today that he wants our offense to look like the Lakers triangle offense.
