Is there such a thing as a universally strong immune system? Strong immune system=virility=good looks? Where do you get that? Also, are you high?
"Strong genes" have nothing to do with money, which is what gold-diggers are attracted to in men And how in the hell do you know that 50-cent has a "strong immune system"? Taking roids has nothing to do with having a "strong immune system"
Ronny I'm happy for you, and Imma let you finish, but Basso is already the most annoying poster of all time...OF ALL TIME.
First of all, Ronny, where did you get that quote about the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC)? Secondly, even if you could transmit your MHC's through your pheromones to attract the opposite sex, how in the hell would that demonstrate you have a "strong" immune system??? All it would really demonstrate is that you had an immune system AT ALL! There is no way to quantify whether your immune system is "strong" or not based upon your MHC. Wait, I take that back, I guess you could do the unrealistic thing and analyze the individual's entire gamut of MHC's and check for a high variability... Still, high variability does not necessarily equal high virility.
LOL, omg I can't believe that there is SOME truth in what Ronny says! But this article, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7630893, back in 1995 actually tested women for attraction towards a particular male's t-shirt after two consecutive nights of partying, no showering, deodorant, cologne, etc. It was found that women (not on oral contraceptives) were more inclined to choose males who had dissimilar MHCs than theirs. Interestingly, the results were opposite when testing females taking oral contraceptives. So, there may or may not be a link; more testing needs to be done. However, i will say this, this article does not prove Ronny's claim: just b/c the women picked MHCs dissimilar to their own does NOT mean theat they had "weak" immune systems or that the males had "strong" ones (or vice versa). All it means is that they were "selecting" for their offspring to have a more variable MHC than their own. Of course, it must be noted that the only way to give off these pheromones is by the males not showering, no deodorant, cologne, etc, and the women cannot be on oral contraceptives. Realistically, in the modern world, that would never happen.
um..... whaaaaat??!?!? A woman's immune system (their controls for warding off diseases and pathogens) has nothing to do with the size of their hips and their hip-to-waist ratio. I think you don't understand what an immune system is.
I didn't read the article very closely but I don't think that has anything to do with one's immune system. That is hygiene and perhaps natural body scent. Your immune system has nothing to do with the way you look or smell. I thought this was pretty common knowledge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immune_system
It indeed is pretty common knowledge, sir! It has more to do with pheromones, which have no real discernible smell. The study makes a correlations to a person's immune system and pheromones. Showering, putting on heavy fragrances, (most normal modern hygiene) will result in the pheromones having no effect.
i'm going to bet anyone here, 9 out 10 times, a guy's going to choose someone who looks like megan fox with a weak immune system over a rosy o'donnel look-a-like with a strong immune system... with everything else being the same.
His Patrick Bateman-infused views are almost dead-ringer for the ex-poster Nomar, who used to ruffle a lot of feathers around here.
You tried to equate immunity with physical attractiveness. The reason I can't "conceptualize" is because it isn't "written" anywhere. At all. Your original post and subsequent defenses were all stupid; there's really nothing you can do or say to change that.
