That was against some scrubby teams. We can beat anyone ahead of us by shooting that poorly on the FOUL line.

I agree. FT shooting is my biggest worry about this team in the playoffs. We have to be able to make teams pay for fouling us. There is no reason why any of the starer should shoot under 70% from the line.

If you look at teams like the Lakers, the Jazz, the Mavs, and the Suns (sans O'neal), they are all good FT shooting teams. The Rockets need to get better at the line to match these elite teams. If that means hring a FT coach, it needs to be done.

I think Scola will be a 70% shooter but no more, that is what he averaged in Europe, actually 67% he has to be thought not to rush the first FT he always shoots the first too early.

Well, at least Wells isn't going to hurt us anymore with his FT shooting.

T-Mac is shooting 73% FT in Feb. I think he'll keep getting better.

T-Mac drove in the 4th of game 7 just as much as he shot Js. He just missed 2 of them in a row at around the 4-5 minute mark so you make the assumption and generalization that he shot mostly Js.

Yeah, Rockets FT% has been improving. This was the worst FT shooting night they had since the elementary school level of the Pistons game.

Yeah I don't think you can take 1 game by Bobby Jackson as a good sample size. He is 78.9% for his career with many seasons over 80%. Hopefully we get Brent Barry, who is a career 82.1% FT shooter and can catch the ball from out of bounds and actually dribble it a little bit. If we run out a lineup of Jackson, Head, Barry, Novak, Yao to hit free throws to finish a game, we will be hitting around 84%. A more realistic lineup to close games of Jackson, Barry, T-Mac, Landry, Yao is around 75%. I think we will be OK.

Tmac FT shooting shouldn't be this bad.

He's shooting at 69% this season, and I think it's all mental.

He said in a video that him and Luther Head had a FT and 3 pt shootout.

Luther won the 3 pt shootout but TMAC won the FT. I think he said Luther missed on his 21 attempt or something.

So I know TMAC can do it... it's all mental.

JB called him out last night on the TNT broadcast and said it was just that T-Mac doesn't concentrate when he's at the line.

It looks like landry has to "measure" his shot when he shoots his FT. His form doesnt really flow (not as bad as chuck lol), look at his misses, they are on line just long or short. He needs to work on the fluidity of his form

I hope our administrator keep this thread sticky.
I won't see that one day we are kicked out just because we lose so many free throws as last game.
No good free throws, no playoffs.
I make a plea for T-Mac if he runs to the rim for our victory.
    I come from China.

I think they had noticed that. Just like the guys said it is all mental.
Landry, Scola, T-mac must find the way improve the FT precentage.

This is the number that T-mac might want to look up to : Kobe Bryant .845

for t-mac its obviously a lack of concentration. he just doesnt focus on free throws. its a lot easier to focus when a defender is in your face then when you have a free shot at the foul line. free throw shooting will always be a problem with t-mac.

This is one area that again reared it's ugly head. We had a couple of chances to increase the lead but smoked the free throws. My biggest fear is that late in the game, Tmac takes a tough jumper instead of driving to the basketball getting fouled and missing two "FREE" throws.
