There's no such thing as a weak schedule. This team is just as likely to lose against mediocre teams as it is to win against good ones.
Just meaning strength of schedule wise and opponent record. Everyone knows you can lose any given night to any team.
While there are very few games this month, I dont see this as a weak schedule at all. -Those two games vs. Phoenix are HUGE beyond words. -Minnesota game will be also be important to keep help keep them from clogging up the playoff race -LAC game- Rockets are most likely going to be fighting them for seeding -LAL game- you KNOW the Lakers will be jacked for this game, and its in LA. Could be Kobe's first game back as well. -@GSW- When are games in GS ever easy? -Clev, Sac, & Wash- Trap games. The Rox can't sleep walk against them. They are all playing fairly decent BBall this past month, and are more healthy now than before. I will be ecstatic if the Rockets can find a way to go 7-3. However its probably more likely they go somewhere between 5-5 or 6-4. The Rockets have 34 games left and absolutely MUST HAVE 19 more wins to think about making the playoffs... and that's just to MAKE the playoffs... forget seeding. If they can get 6 wins this month, then they are looking at needing to win 13 out of the last 24 games which should be doable. However they cannot afford to take any inferior opponents lightly. They MUST win all of those games they are favored in or they could find themselves in a jam in April when they are tied with 4 other teams just to make the 7th & 8th seed. Then you are making yourself compete in a playoff like series to win must win games like last year that could go the other way (remember the Jermaine O'Neal goaltend???) Lets get those last 19 Wins ASAP please.
We've been inconsistent though, so this might be a harder month than you realize. We're 0-1 against Phoenix (who are right behind us in the standings and a solid team). We're 1-2 against the Kings for some reason. 0-2 against the Clippers. If we keep playing well, we could be 8-2 or 9-1. But, it's really easy to go .500 like we did in December, especially with the injuries we still have.
I don't think we have a weak schedule. It is only 10 games. This is basketball, on any given night, anything can happen! We can beat the Clippers but go down at the Bucks game. I am happy with a 7-3 in February!
Road games=losses. For example, Phoenix has a 15-7 home record, and our road record is 12-10. Of course, they are missing Bledsoe, but who knows who we'll be missing by then.
Our March schedule is very very tough. Rockets play Detroit, Miami, @Orlando, Indiana, Portland, @OKC, @Chicago, @Miami to start the month
That is not a weak schedule at all. Phoenix already beat us pretty bad at Toyota Center earlier this season. True, we were missing Parsons, but they were on the 2nd night of a back-to-back and we were rested. So there's no guarantee with that game. Then you've got the game at Minnesota. The Rockets should be favored, but it's on the road and the T'Wolves are an even more unpredictable, inconsistent team than we are, so that one's a tossup. Washington at home is a game we should win, but they're not a bad team. They did just win at Phoenix and Golden State over the last few days. And let's not forget the huge lead we blew in their arena before pulling the win out of our backside. Finally, there's the 5-game roadie coming out of the All-Star Break. Could the Rockets win a bunch of those? Sure. They're a better team than every one of those opponents aside from the Clippers. But they got their asses handed to them in Sactown earlier this season. The Lakers beat us in Toyota Center. I already mentioned our difficulties with the Suns. The Warriors are a tough squad. And the Clippers will be a difficult matchup as well, especially if Chris Paul is back by then. I think given the Rockets' inconsistent play, 7-3 is probably the best they can do. I hope I'm wrong, and maybe by the time they go on that road trip, the Asik situation will have been resolved and they'll have a deeper, healthier roster. So we'll see.
4 wins with 6 more games to go.. Not looking too bad so far. Just need 3 more wins for my prediction to come true.
Spurs looking to be a 60 win team. We need to aim for anything better than 5th. We do not want to play the Clippers in the 1st round.
