Don't you know? Amare is allowed to get easy points, but Yao is not because an easy 2 points is not the same as a hard 2 points on the scoreboard....oh wait........it is.

It is really funny. In the first two years, fans here always say they are sick of YAO's jumpers and fadeaway. They just want to see him like shaq. Now, they say they are sick of Amare style, they want to see those fadeaway and jumpers back?

Is YAO doomed to satisfy all these crap?

You just hit it on the head.

This is the regular season we're talking about. The Playoffs are another story.

The playoffs is WAR. The NHL probably has the most gruelling Playoff battles than any other contact team sport where guys get battered, playing with bruised ribs, sometimes fractured arms etc but the True superstars in that sport that lead their teams to the finals prove their worth all the time by scoring and playing through pain and making clutch plays.

Why did I say all that?

Like all major team sports with the exception of baseball, POSt season in the NBA is 5 steps ahead than the regular season, everybody plays more intense both physically and mentally. TRUE superstars shine in this light and prove their worth, playing through pain and fatigue and scoring clutch shots, getting that crucial stop, Blocks, and showing your teamates the way through action on the court when the team is down.

I Shudder at the idea of Yao in the post season. He has shown to be so mentally weak against competition in the regular season when things are not that intense and grueling but when it time for the playoffs when everybody steps up their game 3 notches, How the heck can Ming ever match let alone exceed that mental fortitude in playing through fatigue or making clutch plays either critical shots or big impact statements like blocks late in the game etc.

    The playoffs is WARRRRRR.

Yao is struggling now when competition is relatively in cruise control, when we come to that point where we're a true tile contender can Yao be the one that leads and finishes? I doubt it.

After watching him play the last game against the Rockets, he has to be the least dominating 25 ppg scorer in the NBA...

If given the choice I would rather Yao play like Duncan (be able to get his own shots in the paint) rather than like Amare who scores on open layups/dunks, wouldn't you?

I'll go one better: Chris Mimh picks up his 4th foul and has to sit. They put Brian Grant on Yao - a mismatch made in heaven. Our "guards" were COMPLETELY unable to exploit that mismatch. Don't you think that had the tables been turned and Yao was playing for LA, they wouldn't have fed him the ball until he dropped? Think back to the PHX game. How often did you see Nash penetrate, setup and dish off to Amare who's in perfect position under the hoop? That's what your POINT GUARD is supposed to do! On this team WHO does that for Yao? And what of TMac? He's double teamed and passes out to Sura, Wesley, Barry or a forward only to never see the ball again.

Sure, Yao was just off on a lot of his defensive rotations but damn, our guards and forwards have to at least make SOME effort to guard the opposing team. It's just sickening to watch night in night out.

I'm sure they are bashing Amare in the Sun's bbs night in and night out. Wishing him playing like Tim Duncan.

Yes, we both agree - If given the choice I'm sure phoenix fans would want Amare to play like Duncan.

I am more realistic and not nearly as greedy as you guys. I just want one of our PFs can play like Kelvin Cato.

ou guys crack me up. I have been a rockets fan since I was a kid and my dad got 2 for 1 tickets in the Summet to watch the "Big Whopper" play

    - why does everything have to be so EXTREME

here is what the majority of real Rocket fans think (not the haters who are unhappy with their lives so the post their ire on BBS's and call into Sports talk shows)

Yao stunk up the house in the first half.... but redeemed himself in the second and ended with a respectable 25 points - and last time I checked the easy buckets count just as much as the hard ones

oh yeah, and to those Yao haters who want him gone and those YOFs who keep protecting him from the haters let me say this. Yao ain't going anywhere. but if the Rockets offered a trade Yao, they would have 29 other teams wanting to make an offer. He is not Dirk, Kobe or Duncan, but he demands double teams - and if those "shooting" guards that we brought in had done their jobs (2 of 14) - they could have pulled this one out z!

The man had a bad half. He recovered, had 25 points and yet, he is crap?

What he is is human and he tries. He is getting hacked to death and the refs will not call the foul unless they break off an arm or draw blood. But that's OK. Yao is a big boy and he IS getting more aggressive.

Or wait, none of you saw that because in your eyes, he IS a wimp, will always be a wimp. Didn't see any of his none moves in the first have or the shots he make in the 2nd half. But that's OK. It's your opinion that he sucks.

It's my opinion that he needs to have consistent role players gettin' him the ball and hitting open shots. When that happens ladies and gentlemen, then you will see this team take off.

Or did you see how the defender are beating him up to the point of assault. But again that's OK, Yao is over 300lbs and he can take it right? That the NBA and it's a man's game. Sure. Let's see you make a shot when your defender push you with both hands HARD, (Grant) while Yao shots and Yao doesn't get a foul.

Finally it's sad you want to trade the guy. It's short sited. And say you do trade him... for what?? Which team got the better of the deal? Miami or LA? I rest my cast. And no Yao is no Shaq but Yao is going to be better than anything you can trade for.

I truly hope Alex and CD would think this way and trade Yao, then I can finally free watching the horrible JVG offense and crap bashing in this board.

Someone, please make it happen! And I can say, "Farewell, Rox TRAGIC!"

I find it interesting that most of the Yao "haters" don't use very good English grammar. Hmmm.

I love Yao. I'm frustrated with how he's playing, and as a Rocket fan have the right to discuss this, but it's just a matter of time before things come together. Yao always learns, and get's better. He is unique in the history of NBA centers, because of his learning curve, not only of the NBA, but language, culture, food, everything. As the Rockets put a better supporting cast around TMac and Yao, they'll eventually win championships. But, the Rocket's staff do need to be concerned about his welfare off the court as well as on.

The only people who would demand that we trade Yao are not Rocket fans, but Yao only fans, or competitor fans, and I find them offensive, and insulting our intelligence, the way they are polluting this BBS. You know that Yao reads this BBS, and you insult his intelligence, thinking he won't see through this rubbish, hoping it will alienate him from his fan base here in Houston. You insult us all.

Shame on you and go away.

    Well...

    Maybe...

Yao needs to play PF as Duncan does.

    About being ruined...
Yao brings money to owners. No need to bring wins.
... was motto of the owners before our guy made a single step on American soil.
