I fear that they will bypass talent (BPA) for need. Of course our biggest need is a 4 followed by a 1 but not just anyone of them.

Which of those three took more shots last year?? Battier Head or Alston...

By that definition Rafer was the third options.. making him the third scorer, theoretically.

If he didn't have to shoot so much then he would be fine. You can't just keep passing it around... someone has to shoot.

For someone who can't shoot worth a lick, he lead the league in 3PA last year. More then Ray Allen, more than Mike Miller, And Bibby.
He thinks he's a SG or a pure shooter or some stud from 3's.

He should have passed it alot more.
Rafer shot 128 more times than Luther Head. Was he jealous?

He's got no business launching so many 3's by such a wide margin when he should be distributing. And posters are saying he's fine.............

How many more minutes did he play than Luther on the season??

You have to take it all in context... Rafer had to be on the floor to run the point up and down the court. Head couldn't handle doing that on a consistent basis. Plus if you had to defend a perimeter shooter.. who would you cover, Head or Alston?

In Adelman's offense I am sure that Rafer will be cutting in and out and passing more. That's just the way a motion offense works. So he won't be forced to stand at the top of the key and wait for the ball because no one is covering him.

Well, Rafer averaged 13.3ppg, Battier averaged 10.1ppg and Head averaged 10.9ppg. That sounds like Rafer was the third scorer to me.

Wait, I will even do the work for you and answer my own question...

    Rafer played 37.1
    Luther 27.6

I'm sure next year you'll be just as happy with him as you are now.

Rafer should be our third option when Yao and Tmac are injured.

I'm going to love him as a backup for Mike James.

Exactly. A pure PG stuck in 3rd scorer role playing 44 minutes a game is beyond ridiculous. Look for improvement in per 48 for rafer this year and all %s up a little. He needed a backup PG last year and JVG gave him crap.

Man if you are wide open and you are over 30% 3pt shooter, you shoot... You have to hope you can make more often but thats a shot that has to be taken because if he is open likely everyone is covered and 1 person is double teamed. Thats how JVG's offense worked, very uncreative. Someone doubles Yao or TMac and usually rafer will be open and he is supposed to shoot. He wasnt dribbling up the court and launching 3s, he was just shooting when wide open.

For all those who said Rafer is good..........

    Thank you.
I knew Rafer should be replaced.

Proves Management only echoed my thoughts. Good riddance Rafer.

Hello Brooks. Didn't he win the 3pt college shootout.

    Its nice to be right!

No, our biggest need is a solid PF.

We just need a PG that can bring the ball up, pass, able to take to the hole when Mac and Yao are locked down, shoot well when wide open and strong defense. Mike James sounds about right.

Nope, Katie Gearlds out of Purdue beat him 17-16. (link) Maybe the Rockets should have drafted her.

I think that was a coed 3pt shootout. This was the mens 3pt shootout I was referring to. And we should check if Katie Gearlds wants to play in our summer league. I think she'd be a great addition. :D
