he's a slash and spot up shooter. he's not great when he's the initial basketball holder, he's been best when someone has driven and passed off so he can make his first move as soon as he catches the ball.

You guys are over analyzing last night's game. Just look at the personnel.

    Allen+Beasley+Andersen+Cole > Hamilton+Motiejunas+Asik+Lin

They have Jesus Shuttlesworth coming off the bench as their shooter. We have to choose between Jordan Hamilton and Cisco Garcia.

Okay, let's put last night game aside.. Where is the scoring going to come from on this bench team? We need more than 1 or 2 players with the ability to score. Dmo and Asik lack of scoring allows the defense to collapse on the 1 or 2 scorers on the floor.

Overrall, we did NOT play a good game last nite. Harden's decision making was TERRIBLE. How in the hell can you throw a cross court pass to Dwight in the final seconds up by 3? It was like he was GIVING the ball back to Miami. Also, our defense at the beginning of the game was ATROCIOUS!!! We'd hit a 3 and give up a layup on the other end. The only thing that saved us was that little outburst Bev had, and the fact the refs stopped giving Miami all the calls in the 2nd half.

I'm sort of pissed at Morey. This is suppose to be his forte.

    Yeah right. Likewise,

    S. Battier -16
    L. James -15
    C. Bosh -17
    D. Wade -4
    M. Chalmers -15

The Heat should be the worst team in the NBA.
They suck. So as this thread.

This is overblown. The bench wasn't hitting shots last night, but to be fair Miami played excellent defense last night. You could tell from the get go. They fronted the post, and crowded Howard in an effort to deny him the ball. The doubled harden on the high pick and roll to force the ball out of his hands. They ran Chandler Parsons off the three point line (and generally did the same thing with our other shooters). They didn't let us score in transition. And they did all of this consistenly throughout the game. Dwight only got a few touches in the post -- and he was able to capitalize. James, despite being doubled on the high pick and roll and having the paint packed on his drives, was able to be effective in the isolation and with his mid-range game. If I recall, Chandler only shot one three-pointer, and Hamilton was run off the three-point line, as well. We were able to turn on the transition game a bit in the second half, but that wasn't our bread and butter last night.

In short, Miami game planned for us as though this was a playoff game. Even though the bench didn't step up and score, they didn't let Miami take the lead. They never got a lead, and there were only able to tie a couple of times in the second half. To me, this win demonstrates that we can have success in the playoffs when teams are trying to take away the things you're good at. We had key roll players step up -- namely Jones, Beverley and Hamilton, and that's what helped us to win. They didn't game plan to stop Jones, Beverley, or Hamilton, and those guys made them pay with big plays. And of course, our star players showed up, despite having the defense calibrated to take away their strengths. We should be proud of our team. The game was close, but we held the lead on our home court, and answered all of their runs before stepping up big at the end to close out the game. This win shows that we'll be dangerous in the playoffs. We have the talent to win, despite all that Miami did to try and stop us.
