Our #2 draft pick "Jalen Green" seems to have a ceiling of . . .Gerald Green

Wow how creative the OP was able to piece last names together! The Green Hate Squad is on their game as of late - LOL. Sure beats the backfired bigotry they initially tried. Only thing that would make this better is if there was a Crayola font that I could apply to their posts.

The fallout from all these basement analysts will be biblical! Cant wait!

people on here act like Lavine is some average player when he is clearly an above average outcome for a #2 pick and better than like 90% of the guys taken 2nd overall in the last 2 decades

Idk when the expectation for a #2 pick became superstar or bust…

At first I thought maybe they just took an older article from last week and put a new date on it but then I read this...

Green is doing it all on the court from locking down All-Stars on defense, finishing above the rim in transition and making the right read of the pick-and-roll.

...and then I thought "does this company have a drug-testing policy?
    If not they need one!"

Jalen sure is getting a lot of run for that one block on Donovan Mitchell!
They've even got Cade at #8. lol
At least Alpie got an honorable mention.
Guarantee he'll make the top 10 before the season/s over!

This current board would have DESTROYED this guy after his first six starts as a Rocket:

    10ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.8 Topg 59% FT 58% FG%, -12 +/-

I think you need scare quotes around "this guy" for emphasis

Let's be honest, CF in general have no idea about players who don't play for Houston and only half an idea of those that do. Hence the people who think Wall is a career scrub or that Lavine, Beal or Booker level talent would be a waste of a 2nd pick. They should just admit they know nothing about basketball and are just comparing a players' ability to hero ball like Harden who is the only top tier player they've spent any time watching.

Pretty sure Gerald Green wasn't projected to be just Gerald Green coming into this league either.

I'm just imagining the amount of people who wrote off people like Kobe two weeks into their playing careers.

You think THAT is bad, you should have seen Gerald Green in his first 4 games as a rookie....I mean, you would have to wait until game 47 for him to crack the rotation on a losing team but....well I wouldn't want to spoil it for you. Check this out:

....or are you honestly saying you would rather have an ineffective aging vet with no upside over a young player with tons of upside because the vet has dunked in the past? Surely you aren't actually saying that - right?

Lol he scored his first NBA points 50 games into the regular season. He scored his first poots after his 4th game playing. He couldn't even score a bucket for 3 entire games.

They would have wanted the franchise to trade Yao and Francis for spare parts

You couldn't trust Gerald to dribble, nor did he have any real dribble moves to shift the defense.

Yeah, he was athletic but he didn't have the elite first step to get by the defense. Couldn't get to the free-throw line much either.

Jalen has all of the above. His shot is not going in right now, and refs have been swallowing their whistle, but you can still see how easily he can use a dribble move to get himself a decent shot, and how easily he can sometimes get past the initial defender using his quickness.

The shot will eventually fall, he'll get used to more physical defenders, and he will learn how to finish at the basket with contact. We might even start seeing some posters.

Once that happens, nobody here is gonna talk about Cade, Mobley, or Barnes anymore.
