If I'm not mistaken, the actual knee injury happened against the Pacers, not the Mavs, but he did play in the Mavs game that followed his injury. Nice fact checking, Fran.
Since TMac came to the Rockets team we have become a MUCH better team, 50 game winning team whenever he suits up. Sure we didnt win a playoff series, but is it his fault? He showed up in both the series and his numbers prove that. His other superstar was not dominant and you can't expect to win a playoff series in this conference with just one player. Remember Fran's article on how we should give respect to the team for 22-0 effort after we lost against Boston? well Fran its time to give TMac the credit that he is due and in the process show some class.
This was definitely not the game to criticize T-Mac, even if we had lost. He was aggressive and into the game, looking to attack instead of chucking up lazy jumpers. No complaints for this game. But see, that's what makes watching the guy so frustrating. In the regular season, he's lahk a bawx of chawklits.
He's got a history of dissing Tmac cause he thinks that he's such a smart ass for making people look bad.
Bingo. Yes you are right, he is like a box of chocolates but come playoff time you know exactly what you're going to get. I wouldn't begrudge T-Mac, or Yao, or LeBron, or Kobe, etc. any regular season games so long as we make the playoffs and he turns it up IN the playoffs. As players, they know how much to give and when. We needed to stop the bleeding against a tough opponent and T-Mac came out with that mindset and got it done (along with help of course, but this win was really on T-Mac hitting all those tough jumpers and actually taking it to the rim despite getting hammered and no calls)
Star player can have bad game too you know. The game of basketball are being played with 5 players. It is not one man game, so drop all the bashing and hate. Tmac still has game on him.
Here is the diss from Blinebury, ..."Somebody who never gets tired. Or never admits it." He would have played the whole 4th quarter if he wasn't tired or if Adelman didn't want to keep him fresh. Has Landry even played over 30 minutes this year and seen constant double teams all year long? He hasn't played in 2 weeks. Tmac played 48 minutes and scored 30 points against the Bobcats and had to get an IV after the game. Did some of yall not hear that? Then he plays against the Lakers less than 40 hours after having fluids put back in his body and admits he's tired. We win the game, Tmac doesn't play all that great and r****ded fans and sportswriters demonize him for admitting something that everyone could see. His legs were tired, his shot was flat. He found other ways to win. I totally agree Landry's presence was huge as well as Bobby Jackson, Shane Battier was huge too. Tmac had a good night too but to diminish Tmac's presence is absurd. I don't really care though because it just makes Fran look like he is grasping for straws by taking cheap shots at Tmac. I hope most fans don't buy in to Fran's crap but I know some will.
I like Blanberry and his writing style even posted many of his articles here but this dude is getting on my nerves. Yes last two games TMac looked dead tired ok so blast away, but this game?? WTF? Give respect to our best player, you know where we would be without him now?
Sorry but he's been on MeMac's case for some time - not just when he struggles. He's hard on Tmac not because of his talent but because of his lack of leadership, the numerous disappearing acts when he's needed to come through for his team and his playoff record. Tmac is paid like a superstar but if he's really that then he's also one that you never know when he's going to come through for you and yours and the blame for that perception lies squarely at the feet of McGrady himself.
See now this spiteful little fat dude is making me not like Carl Landry because if you have to prop up Carl Landry by bringing down Tmac then whats the point of that...
wtf? You TMac haters need to stop this "its not his talent its his attitude". What attitude?? HE HAS DELIVERED MORE THAN YAO HAS SINCE HIS TIME HERE. We became instant 50 win team as long as he suited up with or without Yao. He carried us to the playoffs without Yao. His numbers were phenomenol in the playoffs. Last I checked Yao is getting paid superstar dollars too. He has done the opposite of what TMac did above. TMac has few bad games and we attack him? When we beat the same team this year without TMac, it was a GREAT accomplishment and now we are bashing TMac for the same accomplishment AFTER a great game by him?? get the f outta here
Your hate is beyond idiotic. I have no problems with people criticizing McGrady but you provide NOTHING with posts like this. Waste of bandwidth.
His nonchalant attitude towards the game. I have never seen Tmac lead the rockets to 50 wins in a season without Yao playing in any of the games. You know why? B/c its never happened. When? Please dont tell me this year. Yao played 55 games this year. I hardly call that "carrying us to the playoffs without yao". Its a shame that playoff success is determined by how far you go in the postseason and not individual stats You can have the best numbers in the league, but if you cant finish the job, you still fail. Case in point. If you were a coach and you're down by 2 with 10 seconds left, who would you want to shoot the ball...tmac or robert horry? If tmac is getting superstar money (19 million this year), then yao is getting "star" money (13.7 million). Yes, yao always plays with intensity (opposite of tmac). No one has ever questioned his will to win. Thats why his mistakes are so easily forgiven. And thats why tmac's are not. When the highest paid player on your team plays like a 6 year old girl for 3 games, then he deserves all the criticism he gets. I havent seen much tmac bashing regarding the GSW game. Btw, bobby jackson and landry had as equally great games as tmac.
That was uncalled for, granted Tracy did look bad agaisnt Boston and NO. But this game I thought he played very well and kept us in the game for a good strech. He even drove the lane (But was getting no calls) I see Blinebury is trying to build up Landry and by all means he deserves it but there's no reason to knock Tracy on this one.
whatever the heck that means. You think every player in the league should be like KG who is thumping his chest at every good play? Wait, aren't you one of the losers who called TMac McLady coz he cried after the Jazz loss? It never happened because Yao has never been hurt all season. BUT in the games that Yao has been hurt, TMac took us to better than 50 win record pace. 20-10 last year and even better record this year. What is Yao's record without TMac?? thats right... Last year when we went 20-10 without Yao and with a crappy team. Thats what I called carrying us to the playoffs. AGAIN what is Yao's record without TMac?? thats right... If you go by your stupid logic, we should go with Horry even over Kobe, Yao etc. because Horry has hit more big shots in the playoffs in that situation. You amaze everyone with your "logic". Its CALLED MAX MONEY i.e. SUPER STAR MONEY. Yao is getting what is maximum allowed by this league at the time he signed. Who cares about intensity when there are no results. Don't hide behind effort, look at the results. Facts are facts and its on the side of TMac. You want intensity by Yao? How about the fact that Yao grabbed 6 FRIGGING rebounds in the biggest game of his playoff career in Game 7 against Jazz??? or when he gets owned by all those smaller Phoenix and Warrior guards???? Do you think maybe playing all those 48 minute games can actually tire a guy out? Maybe back to back games against the best teams in the league could have something to do with it? equally great game?? LMAO yea maybe about 9 points, 8 rebounds (Jackson) and 7 assists (Landry) short!!! You amaze me with your great insights...
Word of advice Rockza. If you want to debate with that guy be prepared for days and days of debating on technicalities. He's the guy that argued for like a month on why teams would Marcus Camby over Yao.
