Convenience fee applies only for payment via phone by Comcast Customer Care Reps. Gotta read the fine print.
If I'm not mistaken, a 3rd party processes those kinds of payments and that's why it costs money to do it. Even if you make the payment with the principle company rep on the phohe, a 3rd party still actually processes the payment. The bank that has my car note does it, but doesn't charge for the auto debit (which I use). A lot of credit card companies do it too. That being said, **** Comcast.
Seems like Comcast dropped the rental charge for the digital converter box (primary only). Its now "included" in the package cost.
I just paid my comcast bill online yesterday and I didn't get charged an extra $4.00. Maybe its gonna show up on my next bill.

ok, i just called Comcast and basically told them AT&T is offering me a great deal. of course, the rep asked what that deal was to see if i was BSing. told them i didn't really want the hassle of changing services and i'd like to give them a chance to match the offer. well, surprisingly, they did! i say surprisingly b/c i called them 2 weeks ago and the other rep gave me some crap about me just having had a discount.
Are there any alternatives to cable internet other than DSL? Are there any other providers of high speed cable access at all?
Your other alternative is dial up. I don't think you can have 2 cable companies operating in the same area. If you really want DSL get the 6 Mbps down package for $34.99 with AT&T
