umm, I don't know if you're being sarcastic or what, the the 'service call' charge has nothing to do with just calling them on the phone it refers to them actually having to come out to your house to perform any work use some common sense people, no one is gonna charge 25 bucks just for a phone call...
Do these dish networks still charge extra for the local channels? And do they carry both of the local channels SD and HD channels as well?
I checked my bill. I don't see a $4 convenience charge. Maybe it is a one-time charge when you set it up.
Huh? I made the online automatic payment. And I am looking at the bill itemization right now, there is no charge for convenience.
My current bill: Comcast Cable Television $ 73.94 Comcast High Speed Internet $ 42.95 One time Charges and Credits $ 4.95 Taxes, Surcharges and Fees $ 5.82 Payment Due $ 127.66 I never thought I'd go the dish route but it's looking that way. Especially with all of the HD choices out there.
I'm thinking the autopay feature is not what they mean when they say online payment. Mine is set to automatically draft out of my account. Were you to go online and pay an individual bill with a credit card or something, I bet it would add on a charge of $4. Now, as silly as that seems, that is not the first time I have seen it. I have been charge extra for online payments in the past...I assumed because they knew that I was doing it that way since I had forgotten to send in the payment by check, so I was willing to pay it. Oh yeah, and **** Comcast.
Mine automatically charges my credit card. I'm guessing it's just a one-time fee. I can't imagine them charging $4 a month for that.
yeah im leaving comcast. only thing that sucks is Satellite doesn't have ON DEMAND and that british guy that always comes on tv better not be lying about the SIGNAL IS CONSTANT 99.7% of the time
Holy crap I just ended some services and get this... They told me as of today they were charging 25 bucks to come do a service call. That part we all knew, but get this. She then says since we are going to start charging you for a 25 dollar service call do you want to purchase insurance to cover the cost in case they have to come out. What a bunch of CRAP! I'm gonna have to look into the dish services just out of principle.
What is the upfront cost of ordering DISH or Direct TV? Do I have to pay for a HD DVR? Or am I renting it (like I do from Comcast). If I do not have to buy the box then I am done with COmcast. I would want 1 HD DVR box and a regular DVR box along with a standard box.....if it's $300 upfront, what is the real difference if you take that total and allocate it across 12 months.....seems to me like it's about even.
Speaking of Comcrap...was HD CH. 303 always there? I havent paid much attention but noticed that its TBS HD now...I was watching Family Guy in HD and now the Office...cool.
What's the difference between calling Go Dish or calling the Dish network directly? How many services out there install the dishes? Does Dish farm out the jobs to locals? How does that work exactly? I'm familiar with Go Dish because of the enormous amount of adverstising they have on sports radio. Are they the best locally (in Houston)??
i'm torn on what to get too. been looking at dish, direct tv, and uverse the last 2 days trying to decide. oh, did i mention, **** Comcast!
My apartment complex requires an insane amount of loopholes to jump through in order to get a satellite installed. I am stuck with cumcast. Sh*t.
