i made the decision, I am going with Dish.. I got a pretty good deal. $75 a month for HBO, Showtime, 250 Channels, Locals, HD DVR and regular DVR and 2 other tvs with standard box. So 4 tvs total. ... I will be saving about 25 bucks per month. Not to mention the 4 bucks for online payment and the other r****ded fees.
How did you get the deal? Is it a package or do you have to call and talk to the rep to figure out what you want?
Really? that's good to know. I had direct tv in dallas (loved it) and I would lose the signal just about every time it rained. this makes me want to switch back even more. just might do it
Apparently, the U-Verse is available in my area. In regards to the internet, do you ever have many outages, those that are signed up? I haven't found out yet how much my bill will be going up, but if the internet is good, I'll definitely consider switching. Right now I have the 3-pack with cable, internet and digital phone service through Comcast. There phone service is god awful. I hate it, but up until now I haven't been able to find a better deal. If the U-Verse is sufficiently cheap enough, I can get a cheap, low end land line through some provider and drop Comcast all together.
i went to the dishnetwork site, they let you customize everything, you can even chat with a rep before finishing your order.
Anybody with u-verse that had comcast internet before see any difference..and does att have 3 deal package like comcast?
When they first took over, they dropped 3 or 4 of the HBO channels. So basically, they've dropped channels and raised prices. Great business model there...
that is the biggest load of horse sh*t i have ever heard "we're going to charge you for giving us money" yeah right. eff crapcast. anyone know of any good NON-satellite alternatives to comcast??
i've been thinking about changing to directv or dish network for awhile just never got around to it. i'm not paying 4.00 to pay my bill. when comcast came my internet sped up but now they can kiss my ass. u-verse didn't work in my area but i tried a west u address and it went through. i'm gonna call them and see if they have an idea when it will be available. i'd rather just pay my internet and tv through one place and i like the packages on u-verse.
My co-worker says that he's had DirecTV for many years and never had problems with the rain. Says that it needs to be a hurricane outside for him to lose signal.
I just called Comcast to get rid of some of my packages and they told me to call back in an hour, because they were having problems. Comcast blows!
has anyone gotten a discount offer from comcast when you called to cancel? i tried getting a discount a couple of weeks ago, but they didn't offer me one b/c i just had one expire in june. i was just wondering how fast they'd change their mind if i said i wanted to cancel.
i think that's their way of saying, "we know you want to cancel but we're hoping that by delaying the process, that you'd forget."
They didnt offer me shiet...even when I asked how much my bill would be if I dropped all TV services and only kept the internet.
