money speaks, im sure we could of offered him a 2 or 3 year vet mininmum deal. Tell me what other centers are left? CD wake up.
I dont think ostertag will be starting at all. Barring any trades theyre going to have Webber and Miller at the 4 and 5. Hes going to be a backup and he probably didnt get many offers if he signed for the minimum. GMs and scouts This has also been confirmed by radio in sacremnto according to the kings forum.
What is going on here? Are we going to do anything! I dont like Ostertag either, but for the minimum???? *THUNK!!!* the sound of the ball dropping...
I have a feeling that Ostertag took the 1 year deal for the Veteran's Minimum in order to showcase his talent in an offense that is focused around distributing the ball. After his supposed break-out year, he expects to strike another multi-year inflated contract and sit pretty for the rest of his life. Personally I wouldn't take a chance at him, but I'm sure at the Veteran's Minimum any team would have taken him including the Rockets. Of course, Ostertag might just want to be a contributing factor in winning a championship, but I'm doubtful about that.
It's not that he's any good but the Rockets need a guy that can eat up around 10-15 minutes a game as a backup to Yao. Osterfat would have been perfect for that at the minimum.
Ostertag is a f'n loser. He's done nothing in his career. He just comes into the game, loafs around, and picks up a few fouls. Hell, I'd rather have Eric Chenowith.
