I'm telling you guys, I live in Sacramento, and it's very, very, very, very unlikely Vlade goes anywhere. He has said many many times over the years that he'd rather retire than play somewhere else.

Yeah, Divac aint happenin. Ostertag would be the rebounding and shot blocking at backup center so why not. We need to keep our picks as big as they were last year and for that you need big bodies.

Look at the Detroit roster. Last year they had 5 C's and C/F's on their roster. WE (the Rox) have ONE !! Our PF's are either short or lightweight or both. I am sure JVG realizes that when Cato went out last year the Rockets could not give Yao enough rest. We need more than some dumbo's to back Yao up or we are in trouble maybe.

We will need to trade some of our PF's for some Oakleys (that can still play). Maybe McDyes (sp?) and then a pure center B/U.

It would be something else if the Rockets could get Divac, and amongst all ironies, get Fisher. Two of the biggest dumb A$$ to ever act on the court. Then we would be foreced to cheer instead of jeer them.

I say let's get Barry and Skinner. That works for me.

I would rather see Pig Miller, or Collier back in a Rockets uniform than either Ostertag or Divac.

To my absolute surprise, I think Tag is about our best choice. Man that hurts to say. I have a history of calling him a fat tub of goo. What can I say.

As a side note, as our roster stands (and I think we all expect changes) when Yao sits, our front line will be Howard, Taylor and Spoon.

Ostertag was more efficient than Cato last year, playing about the same minutes. He's better than Cato in about every aspect except FT% statwise. It will be a steal if he can be had cheap.

Stats don't tell the story. Cato is a way better defender than Ostertag. Cato was much more efficient for that reason alone.

Cato is better than Tag on help defense, being more mobile. Tag is as good as Cato on rebounding, but a better shot blocker and equal or better post defender.

Cato was defending PF's, Tag was defending C's.

I can't believe it, the Tag is getting some respect on this board!

Actually, I would like to see him in a Rockets uni next year. Keon Clark's name was floated too. I wonder about his size but I do like his energy.

Vlade looks to be a very long shot, this makes Tag about the only true center in the Rox price range.

I also have to go with Tag. He will be a good back-up for 12-15 minutes, but we also need someone to step in if Yao gets into foul troulble. :D
