It's weird to see a show that one minute has someone making a veiled negative comment about the President and then in the next minute has an audience applauding a Nazi.
Who made and what was the comment? Who was the Nazi? I can't be bothered to sit through anything but the last four or five awards. Lost In Translation, hey-o!
Errol Morris just said something about thinking the country is heading for into a similar direction that we were going when we entered into the Vietnam War. It was understated, and not really a very provacative comment, but it was there. And Leni Riefenstahl was the Nazi. She was in the "in memoriam" section having died this past year. And there was applause when her picture was shown on the screen.
There's a really great part in The Fog of War in which McNamara, talking about Vietnam, mentions that when your most trusted allies are openly against your policy, you probably need to take a look at your reasoning. A couple of people in the theater applauded when he said that.
Zeta-Barf is disgusting. She makes me sick, literally. Angelina is the hottest by far. Naomi Watts a close second.
Did you not see A Mighty Wind FFB? It's a hilarious mockumentary about folk music By the same group of comedic actors that did Best In Show, Waiting For Guffman and Spinal Tap. (yes Eugene Levy)
I'm not able to watch Oscars because my damn girlfriend wants to watch Lifetime. Is LOTR still sweeping?
God, I hope not. I think it was the best film out of the nominees for best picture(I thought Last Samurai was the best movie this year), so I wanted it to win the big one, but ROTK wasn't good enough for an 11 for 11 performance. I'm making it a point to see all of next year's best picture nominees before the show. It's killing me that I haven't seen Mystic River or Cold Mountain. Edit : I also need to check out House of Sand and Fog.
He's right to an extent, though I would venture to guess that even the current administration has fully considered their reasoning and found it to be sound despite the opposition of much of the rest of the West. Just because others may not agree doesn't mean that they don't think it's right and have considered and reconsidered why they do what they do. Plus, I think MacNamara stole that line from Michael Moore.
Well, Cold Mountain wasn't nominated for Best Picture, so it shouldn't kill you, evne though it's certainly killing Harvey.
