He was nominated for an acting role in one film and a directing role in another. That has NEVER happened before. He's made history!

The sad thing is the only one he probably has a chance at is Best Supporting Actor for Syriana. Good Night, And Good Luck was an absolutely fantastic film...it would easily win just about everything if that stupid gay cowboy movie didn't come out. I mean, Brokeback Mountain was okay, but it's not deserving of all the hype & awards it's getting. I stopped paying close attention about a fourth of the way through the film and then it became background noise to my nap.

I am surprised "Cinderella Man" wasn't nominated in the best picture category and Russell Crowe for best actor. Dude was awesome in that movie.

    "Munich" is an awesome movie.

"Crash" was very good but I don't know if it is a best picture quality.

I'm happy with 4 out of the 5 Best Picture picks. But I would have liked "Syrina" to be nominated over "Crash."

Am I the only one who kinda wanted to see Ian McDiamrid get nominated for a Best Supporting Actor for Star Wars?

How was Star Wars not nominated for Best Special Effects?
How were either Chronicles of Narnia and King Kong not up for Best Original Score?
How was Walk the Line not picked for Best Movie?
... And why was Big Momma's House 2 shut out in EVERY category? WTF?

It wasn't released in time for this year's Oscars, of course...

Am I the only one who thought Crash wasn't a great movie? It was good but definitely not Best Picture worthy.

Someone is going to feel his wrath, I promise.

Crowe is like Jordan when they started giving MVP to players like Malone just to shake it up. you could nominate that dude for any role he plays. anyone remember virtuosity where he played the serial killer created by a computer. he could have won an oscar for that as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, the dude is an awesome actor. He should have won for "Beautiful Mind", not Denzel. Denzel should have won for so many other roles but they gave him a "pitty" oscar for a weak movie (the dirty cop role..forget the name of the movie).

Name was "Training Day" but he should have won for "Malcom X" in my opinion.

Yeah that was it...I didn't think the movie was that great, he did a good job acting but not his best. He could have won for much better movies and roles like "Malcom X," "The Hurricane," "Philadelphia," and even "Antwone Fisher."

Yeah, I'm ultra pissed that Cinderella Man wasn't in the Best Picture category. I can't imagine enjoying that movie anymore than I did.

No, I thought this too. I'm not sure if he was even given any serious consideration. And not to come off as some total fanboy, but I thought Ewan McGregor held the trilogy together and could have maybe deserved a little best supporting actor nom consideration as well.
