Grand Budapest Hotel seems like it came out so long ago. Could be telling that it managed to stay relevant over the last 12 months amidst all the typical wait-to-the-last-moment-to-release oscar-bait movies. It's also the only one I've seen, so that's my pick.
I've seen everything but sniper, whiplash and theory. You're not missing a lot. Not a great year for Oscar level films. Check out Locke, the guest and Nightcrawler. All really good but don't have the scope of a typical oscar winner.
WTF? American Sniper? It's not even out yet. Is there anything about a drug addict, overcoming racist people, or someone with mental problems? That one will win.
It's very strange that Lego movie didn't get nominated for best animated picture. I'm shocked and a bit disappointed.
Not a great year for movies, especially since Grand Budapest has nearly been out a year now. I will view the best picture nominees over the next few weeks and give you guys my opinion since it is really the only opinion that matters here.
Been a great year for movies Inherent Vice NightCrawler Whiplash Grand Budapest Boyhood A Most Violent year Blue Ruin Edge of Tomorrow Foxcatcher Under the Skin Lego Movie Birdman Only Lovers Left Alive Gone Girl some of the standouts
Boyhood bout clean up. No real snubs for me, outside of maybe Nightcrawler. I didn't love the movie itself, but Gyllenhaal was terrific.
Not a very strong Best Picture category this year. Although the only ones I've seen of the Noms are Boyhood and Grand Budapest Also nothing for Under the Skin?
Yeah that's why it's rated 8.3 on IMDB with a quarter million people voting and 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Gone Girl was a good book and the movie made me pissed at women. It was a good movie. People really just like hating on Ben Afleck. He's like Maroon 5 of actors.
