I know ;). I didn't think Orton was that bad but his dad really didn't not help out his situation at Kentucky. I'm surprised his attitude hasn't been questioned.

Man, I would pay good money to see Rick Adelman's face when he has to talk to Daniel Orton's dad about playing time.

Daniel interviews very well. He has been taught to say all the right things... plus I think part of his issues with his dad and at UK stem from the loss of his mom.

I don't hate the kid, I just think his priorities are a bit messed up. I understand wanting to go pro and I understand not liking school, but there is just so many things he could have done better - off the court and on.

    da latest...

Daniel Orton has canceled all six of his remaining workouts, according to an NBA source. Speculation is that he may have a promise from OKC

Hmm the Thunder pick at #21. Has his stock really dropped that much?

OKC will need to move up to get Orton, I hope the Rockets can find a way to get Jeff Green from them.

Well, he's from Oklahoma too... so that may be possible.

I would take Patrick in a heartbeat if he's still on the board at 14, but I tend to doubt that would happen.

He's my second love from modern day UK alum next to Chuck. ;)

I am really warming up to the idea of Orton but not at 14. If we traded down and got some assets I think he is a good target.

I like Patterson also... The is mr fundamental... will be a solid player in the NBA. My only problem is he doesn't bring enough height and shotblocking and that is what the rockets need most from a big. Still I wouldn't be upset if the Rockets picked him at 14.

The bigs I think have a shot at being available at the 14...

    Larry Sanders
    Cole Aldrich
    Patrick Patterson
    Ekpe Udoh
    Daniel Orton
    Hassan Whiteside
    Solomon Alabi

I would be happy if we got any of the top 3. They all have upside. Aldrich and Patterson will be able to come in and contribute almost immediately while Sanders will take a little Longer. Sanders and Aldrich bring more shot blocking and should be able to play some backup center as well. I would be happy with any of thse three but I think Sanders has the most upside.

On a side note... Is it me or does it seem the Rockets are fielding less workouts than in the past. So many players have not been reported to have worked out in Houston. I suspect the Rockets have been showing up at other teams workouts to hide their hand.

The Rockets seem to be more secretive about their workouts.

What does he think this is, some sort of youth league? At least other headcases are man enough to complain about playing time themselves

chadfordinsider I'm hearing same @RT Wells222 Indy could throw 1st big wrinkle in draft. They're high on Daniel Orton. Scheduled 2nd workout with him.

Let us pray. If teams are stupid enough to take Orton and Hayward before us, we will have a great draft. There's about 13 guys I'd be thrilled with if we got -- I'll be rooting for Hayward, Babbit, Orton, and Bradley to come off the board before our pick.

That would leave us with: Wall, Turner, Favors, Johnson, Cousins, Monroe, Aldrich, Aminu, Patterson, George, Xavier, Udoh and Whiteside -- I'd be extremely happy with any of those picks. (Yes, I realize the top is unrealistic.)

I'm assuming Josh McRoberts, Tyler Hansborough, Jeff Foster, and Roy Hibbert aren't panning out as planned?

McRoberts is a bust.. Hibbert actually had a solid second season. Hansbrough was out for the year because of some inner ear infection the doctors couldn't figure out all year -- I haven't heard much info on him this off-season. I hope they figured it out, as he looked like he could be a player in this league.

I, too, thought Hibbert did a pretty decent job in the middle and that's why I'd be shock if the Pacers pick Orton at @10 for themselves.

True, but I don't think they would be calling him in for an additional workout if they were picking him for someone else. It is a bit odd, as they have Hansbrough and Hibbert, whereas the only talent they have on the wing is Danny Granger. I would think they would target Paul George. Or perhaps make a bigger move and take Brand off Philly's hands to select Turner.. they need some help at the wing position more than the front court, IMO.

Basketball Jesus has been handling the Pacers' draft for a good while now so definitely don't know what to expect. I'd just like to assume that they're going to trade at least one of their current 4/5s so they have room for Orton because having, what, 6 PF/C players on one time is a bit much when your point guard and shooting guard situation looks horrible.
