I don't get the Bradley hype. And I don't think the Rockets go anywhere near him.

He didn't have that great of a year at Texas -- he's being drafted solely on "potential". At least Whiteside and others showed why they have potential and put up some stats. Bradley was terrible offensively, though he is good defensively.

He's an undersized two guard with a questionable offensive game. I can't see Morey taking this kid; if he's the highest rated player on the board at 14, I see us trading back. We need someone to backup Yao, not someone who will ride the bench and shoot like Kyle Lowry.

Avery Bradley reminds me Russell Westbrook. Bradley doesn't have the same ballhandling skills as Westbrook, but the defense, athleticism and quickness is all there.

glad this thread is back to where I started it...

Should be interesting who the Rockets take. It might cause us to shake our heads (like Brooks), make us ask who (like Landry), or make us think that was the obvious choice (Yao)...

But whoever it is, it will be a well thought of choice and one that can develop with the young nucleus that we have...

Shouldn't you know better than any of us? ;)

To get it back on topic, I certainly don't like Orton either. This kid did almost nothing this year, but suddenly his stock has soared. They say it's because he played behind Cousins, but I don't seem to remember Patterson struggling too much to make an impact.

Bradley, I think, will take a bit longer to adjust than Westbrook did, but I do like him! :)

Bradley is nowhere near the athlete Westbrook is IMHO.

Back to the topic, I would pick Aldrich/Patterson over Orton in a blink.

    I figure Cousins/Favors/Monroe probably won't be around at 14. :(

If Bradley can become a pure point in the NBA, he is going to be alright.

Why would you think he would ever become that? A light doesn't suddenly turn on for those guys.. you're either a "pure PG" or you're not. Russell Westbrook is not, but he's still a damn good player. Avery Bradley is not Russell Westbrook.

 Just because his favourite player is KG doesn't mean he has his skillset lol

Also, anybody else think Orton looks like Russell Westbrook?

Avery Bradley is far and away the best defender in the draft, which is really something to take into consideration...

He is a good enough defender to play the SG, can he become a 40% 3-point shooter?

I'll pass on Bradley. He will never be a pure point and wasn't able to come close to that at UT. If you guys want someone like that out of UT, then check out J'Covan Brown, dude can ball.

Brown is really inconsistent at this point. My guess is that Hamilton makes the best pro from the Longhorns from last season.

Everyone said the same thing about Rondo but he dropped because he had a weird shot. GM's don't want to make that mistake again. You can usually learn to shoot but athleticism is a natural. Still the rockets don't need him and would have to believe he is the real deal to take a chance on him.

    The latest on Larry Sanders...

"Larry Sanders is a lock to go in the mid to late 1st round NBA executives are very high on him after great workouts against some of the top bigmen in draft including Cole Aldrich."

    LINK

Did I mention he is my pick for the Rockets... Among the bigs, I would take Cousins and Favors over him and maybe Monroe... I wouldn't be disappointed in getting Aldrich over him... But that is it. I think he will be better than everybody but Favors and Cousins when it is all said and done...

Cousins reminds me of Moses Malone... I think his attitude is blown out of proportion. He is a bit of a headcase but he is a deliberate force that most teams will have a hard time dealing with for years to come.

Everyone brings up Cousins attitude but Orton and his dad(especially his dad) seemed to be the two headcases at Kentucky.

Not the most talented guy in the draft, but certainly the most ironically named.

Unless he's tiny in some other ways...

Which is part of the reason why I said I didn't like him!

Except that Rondo was running the point in Kentucky (a pretty good one) while Bradley was a clueless choker.
